I miss April when we were being compared to the '27 Yankees. The '27 who were shutout once. We've been no-hit twice.
Dominos Pizza in America gives out free pizzas when there is a no hitter thrown in baseball. Confirmed. Dodgers are trying to feed all of the U.S. for free!!!!
Conspiracy Confirmed. Dodgers are teaming up with Dominos to help promote their pizza while in return Dominos will pay off the umpires in the playoffs so we can win one finally. we finna win a shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip!!!!!!! :cliffjump:
Or people are remembering that they lost 5 in a row before they won 5 in a row, possibly correlating such a stretch to the last 100 or so games in which they've been about a .500 ball club lookin as mediocre as they've ever been. Or not. Could simply be the fact that they've been no-hit twice in 9 days.
I pretty much know we are in first. It's not like we took over first from this week's play. And bunting would be about increasing our lead...it's much better to go into that 3 game Giant series with a 4 1/2 game lead, than 3 1/2. We increased the lead because the Giants lost basically...and what does all of this have to do with bunting to win the game ? Sure we have a chance to break it open, or not. In a 2-0 game, you have to try and win...if being blown out, I could see. Not trying everything to win in the waning days of a pennant race is bad BB. Walt Alston is turning over in his grave...do anything you have to... Apples and oranges, IMO.
Lol yeah let's give away outs and increase the odds of being no hit by bunting... Great strategy... But yeah
I dont have an opinion either way but bunting for a hit isn't giving away an out. It's trying to get a hit. SAC bunting frivolously is giving away outs.
Lol Ned2point0 @Ned2point0 16h16 hours ago I couldn't watch the Dodgers be no-hit in Houston on @SportsNetLA so it's nice to have them be no-hit on nationally televised @ESPN game.
I get that, but i'm sure the % of trying to bunt for a hit is very low especially with the speedsters in our line up!. I would rather they stand in the box and have a quality Ab.
"Quality AB" is the key there. If you need to change tactics to score a run, you let Hernandez or Rollins do it...at least try. Use Peraza as a PH, let him try.Try something. And you posted that you play ball still, so maybe the modern game dictates are front and center...(like mentioned, i.e.,with two strikes some guys don't even give a thought about shortening up their stroke anymore, a la Joc), but a bunt that you succeed with is a successful and quality AB. I can see arguing about bunts if we tried it and blew some attempts at it, but we didn't even try...and standing in there watching Rollins, Grandal K, et al, and the rest of them U-turn and go back to the dugout wasn't too successful either. Anyway, it's probably historical that we got no hit again in such a short time period, so another feather in our cap
IDK, to me I look at the bunt as an auto out. Even when trying to bunt for a hit. Seems like a low % of success to waste and AB. I do play baseball every Sunday. Adult wood bat league. very few bunts are laid! IDK if its because the shift in the way the game is played or not. It just doesn't seem to happen. I play 3rd and Catcher, and I will tell you that I still play the game as to watch for the bunt...Just doesn't happen much at all. Also my youngest son is in travel baseball right now and Ive never seen a kid bunt ever. I watch the practices and they never even teach it. Weird I know. I throw BP every Friday to these kids and we work low and away low and inside etc.. but never bunting. My oldest son played Varsity baseball in HS recently and all they did was work on bunt defense and the coaches actually called for a ton of bunts. ALL sacrifices. The other teams never bunted against us. The game has changed for sure. Even how it is taught. I teach my son to have a 2 strike approach..Meaning shorten up and try and put something in play. Foul off that boarderline strike to see a better pitch etc... I still think even if we tried to bunt for a hit last night, would still have been an out. But I get what your saying..try something to get on base and make shit happen. Wearing the no hit crown again is nauseating to say the least. Has any team ever been no hit in the same season and gone on to win a WS? IF not lets be the 1st!
