wasn't me it's how the poll was initially created see for yourself... http://www.dailysportspages.com/index.php?threads/grade-the-nerds.poll-setup/ but i reopened it... just for you
No, not entirely...he had some pieces that were never addressed, missing bigger than shit. Still, by the geniuses. But that does not change the facts that he had a team that hit the most HRs in MLB, a truly excellent defense, the league leader in SB (at one point), an RBI guy who maintained his outstanding output, an unstoppable Puig who was spectacular then, a top shelf closer, and two history making no. 1+2 pitchers for more than one go round...he had as much, in most cases much more than other managers have had bringing post season success to their teams and fans. They didn't suck for DBB, as they do now. The bonehead moves he made during the seasons were diluted by the fact he did capture the NLW 3 times, but those silly moves and prejudices during the post season were fatal. His neglect alone in the infamous Murphy incident is total bush/rookie shit. Nothing is all is only one person's fault, but as we all know, in the corporate world, if the shit fails, you get rid of the button pusher. And he was given by fate or whatever, a lot of buttons to push...and, in the end, didn't push the right ones. So, yeah, it was his fault, Fordie.
No. One month does not a season make. The "unbeatable" Giants are worse than we are. You want to admit defeat, ...go ahead. You're a fucking quitter anyway.
I don't recall him throwing one pitch or having one AB in the postseason. It was a total team collapse.
Indeed, I had the foresight to see the trend and quit on the Nerds early on. Baseball imitating life. Lemme know if you need a Dave Ramsey book.
The arguement that the manager doesn't hit or pitch is about as sophmoric as it gets...laughable in the real world. In light of what is, or has been done when an organization fails or constantly under achieves, since baseball began. Lol. And to prop up the FO, championing everything they do or have done pretty much since day one, considering their Mattingly exit /unadulterated "genius" button pushing, is flip- flopping at it's worst...or best, whatever. Isn't what the FO thinks and does gospel...or is it not? I guess they thought Mattingly pitched and batted...? Can't have it both ways. What does it matter now anyway?
Managers job is to make others around him better. Sure players have tools but its his job to empower them to use and perfect them. To make the hitters and batters make him look good.
Gentlemen, please mark it in the journals. The Dodgers baseball season ended on May 1st, 2016. WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!!! MO-rons.
So... What the fuck do we post about? Should we take a break and return in July to post? I think you're missing the point of a discussion forum. Page 26.
IDGAF what you post about. A discussion generally involves evaluating the pros and cons of a situation. This is more of a "run it in the ground until it's buried up to the ankles head-first" bitch session. Anybody remember the 42-8 run? Bueller? Bueller? Of course it's not gonna happen, but LOTS could happen. I apologize, but I get sick and fucking tired of "fans" giving up on a team when the season isn't even 5 weeks old. Get a fucking grip. Some "fans" gave up before the first game was played. I can't predict the future. But I can bet you things will not be as they are today come the 1st of September. Things could be much worse...or infinitely better.
so then we're supposed to sit here quietly and contently until then? what if we were 26-0 right now instead of 13-13 -- would you not want people to talk about that? or is it just the negative comments that irk you?
I'd just like a little variation instead of running the same lame mule to the glue factory in post after post after post. And if we were 26-0 I'd be just as quick to tell everyone to not start sucking each others dicks just yet.
Not really. Different strokes and all that shit. I personally find Darths current nerd-hater gimmick the most entertaining thing on this site. just go with it, and rub it in when we start winning. It's part of the fun, not the problem.
