If there's one player on the court who must absolutely be clutch at the FT line, it's PG. Well, at least Lonzo worked on his rap instead of free throws. Don't let the door hit you in the ass, or get stuck on your old man's ego, on your way out. Good riddance. In that picture above, I like how they turned Gasol's torso so his arms aren't showing. They'd look like twigs compared to the others. I hate going into draft-pick debt so soon after getting out of the Nash hole. Then again, given recent management's track record, it might be a good thing that they won't have any to botch. Magic - such a great player, but such a horrible manager (head coach, GM, whatever)... he should only be in PR roles like with the Dodgers. I like Ingram and Hart. Honestly, I'm not a fan of building teams this way. And I'll never be a James fan. How I miss Buss and West. But if the team wins, that's a good thing.
Bobby Marks@BobbyMarks42 The Lakers will have either $27.8M in room or $32.5M in room after this deal. All depends on the timing and if Davis waives his $4M trade bonus.
Butler is probably a given. He has said he wants to be here. He is thirty though. As is Kemba. How bout spread that money to a slew of veterans to make a deep team? Instead of 1 great 30 year old how bout 4 good 30 year olds? Patrick Beverly, Danny Green, Terence Ross, and Paul Millsap would make the Lakers a complete team. Beverly, Caruso Green, Ross LBJ, Lance Kuz, Millsap AD, Wagner
Why do you assume Leonard's only goal when choosing what team to go will be who on paper has the best odds to win it all? This is a guy that has won 2 chips with no true superstar player. Timmy D was still an allstar but not superstar at that point. Also, maybe being the guy now is what he desires? He just got that feeling winning a chip this year. Maybe he likes it? Kinda hard to go back down some steps after what hes accomplished. Also seems to be a private guy. What better place to come and hang out in the clippers locker room......i mean the visitors locker room all season with a team that has a solid young base, a very good and respected coach, and money to spend? "oh you'll never win with clippers" "Oh really. We doing this again? You know La like 2 hours from Diego right?" I pray I'm wrong of courseray:
I am not assuming anything. I doubt he signs with the Lakers. Just trying to find a reason why he might.
i'll pull the BDK on this one no fucking way Leonard signs w the Lakers bend over and suck your own cocks
Kyrie Irving reportedly wants to play with Anthony Davis, and someone close to LeBron James thinks Irving is ‘still in play’ for Lakers https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...&utm_source=twitter&__twitter_impression=true
According to Woj, the Davis trade will be completed on July 6th, not the 30th. Meaning we will only have 27.somethingM to offer if AD declines the trade increase. 23.something if he accepts the salary increase. No Kyrie.
Woj walked it back a bit. Seems nobody knows for certain yet when the deal would be completed and that a 3rd team could still be pulled in among other factors. But Pincus detailed why LAL doesn't necessarily have to wait until July 30th. They can get within about 100K of the max without waiting, by adding Bonga, Wagner and Jones. But another thing to consider is the growing buzz that Kawhi is joining. One of his family members said he's on the way. So a multitude of things could happen here..Kawhi may be OK with opting in and being traded into LAL's cap space. He would make $21M next season if he did.
Lakers reportedly have interest in bringing Brook Lopez back. With AD joining..now, it makes sense to have Lopez around. Lopez has to be teamed with a dynamic defensive force for him to make any sense with a winner. Giannis works..AD works.
There are multiple options at play. Both teams can increase their cap space by waiting until the 30th, but that means some agreement has to be in place for the Lakers to pick at 4 the player the Pels want. Also there would have to be an agreement in place with the Lakers and that 3rd max player to wait and hold off other suitors until the 30th when the Lakers can officially sign that FA. The other play would be to add other players in the deal and get close to the max $30 with AD also waiving his trade bonus. Or, AD waives his trade bonus, and the 3rd FA agrees to sign at less than the max on a short term deal. Then the Lakers can max that player when he becomes a free agent again. Who knows. Lebron maybe close to retirement and more money can be freed up by that time to sign another big time FA.
Bleacher Report@BleacherReport 31m Lakers expected to pursue Kawhi Leonard in free agency, per @KevinOConnorNBA Arye Abraham@arye_abraham 24m Again, as reported several hours ago — see timeline. The Lakers organization, internally, believe they are front runners to land Kawhi Leonard, sources say. Arye Abraham@arye_abraham Members of the media tend to report without context. Is it true that the LAL/Pels trade is expected to be completed on July 6? Yes, but ONLY if the Lakers are NOT able to get a commitment from a max FA. Simply put, the trade completion date won’t prevent LAL from signing a max FA Kawhi/Lakers gaining momentum.
