They had a great chance to make a statement right away, and quite honestly, with last night's hitting (besides the HR), they still suck. The only statement made was by CK, not the Dodgers. Some kind of offense tonight would have meant a lot.
Hard to believe Sellers is worse than Dee Gordon tonight. WTF was the throw home? He had him, too, with a decent throw. Easily.
Ryu, whether nervous or not, was very, very lucky . I'm wondering if no AAA at all was smart on their part. He looks very hittable.
I don't get the approach to hitting against Baumgarden by letting him get the first 2 over the plate and taking them, hitter after hitter. IMO, that's the worst way to hit against guy like him...it plays right into his hands. A really shit plan whoever devised it, whether it was DBB or McGwire, IDK.
We look so bad at the plate, so boring, so every year gone by redux, and so soon. Sends a chill down my spine, actually...can it still be? Still?

Gotta give it to Bumgarner. Kersh had his day yesterday, today just worked out the opposite for us.

baumgartner was excellent but our approach was shit. it just couldn't have hurt to try something to at least make him break a sweat.

 

When you have to spend 8+ hours talking to a guy everyday who is a giants fan, yea I'm a little fucking scared of losing the series.

 

BTW< anyone is entitled to think somebody sucks. You can go at Sellers for his awful game at SS, and that's fine. But he had zero to do with the loss, in spite of being directly responsible for two runs scoring. It looked terrible and shoddy, but it was the lineup that was far worse than this kid...
Ryu was a batting practice pitcher against the Giants, was lucky he didn't give up way more runs and the putrid Dodger lineup--which sucked last night just as well, was the real losers in this game.
And as long as they hit like they are so far, they will be all year.
And the decision to play Sellers at ss, don't forget, was another brilliant one by the outstanding LAD staff. DBB?
Lots of people scratched their heads over this, and I guess... now we know why.

 

Our best players need to be our best players. If that happens we will be fine. We knew our pitching staff was gonna be nails and we didn't know about the offense. So far the pitching is right on que. The offense...might not really know till late May- June what kind of offense we will have. Kemp will have plenty under his belt, Hanley will be back, and we'll have a better idea of how everyone is doing.

Right now it's impossible to know so I won't pretend to.

 

Eh 10 hits, 10 singles. Even with the 4 gidp or so, BABIP was fucking with us offensively and defensively. Expecting the offense to come alive tomorrow. Will take 2/3 tbh

 

Sellers shouldn't be playing and it has nothing to do with the errors. He's not gonna do that again. He can't hit pretty much.
