You are right, until today's surprising uprising the Cardinals have been bad against teams with winning records.
Peavy is terrible, him wearing a Giants' hat hasn't given him any magic whatsoever. Cards should bust him up
amazing thing happened toward the end tonight the game actually became fun again trayce running wild joc bunting [and hitting] turner hitting watching the guys in the dugout having fun made me remember how fun winning used to be i'd like to feel that way more often we all would
I wanna pick up Trayce in fantasy but I know the second I do I'll jinx him and he'll slump. So rest assured I won't!
Woke up this morning to find out I've got field level seats to the game today! Happy (hopefully) Sweep Day!
Dodgers lineup: Utley 2B Seager SS Thompson RF Gonzalez 1B Kendrick 3B Pederson CF Grandal C Hernandez LF Kazmir P Maybe I'm just on the high from CC's DFA but I kinda like that lineup? Pretty interesting, and I like Trayce hitting 3rd and I like Hernandez getting some reps in LF.
Like the Trayce move, but the lower part of the lineup is crap. Here's hoping Grandal and Kike can shake their slumps.
agreed especially turner roberts kept penciling him in the #3 spot day after day when he was struggling and now, when he suddenly remembers how to square up the ball, he sits but i guess it's his scheduled day off just kind of ironic aj and grandal is pick your poison would you rather have a bad bat or poor framing? not that aj is a slugger, but certainly less inept than the current version of yasmani idk
Getting a duck snort usually propels guys to streaks but I'm not holding my breath for Yasmani. AJ at least gives you a coach on the field and can throw runners out being a traditionalist myself that is all I ask for in a catcher. The framing thing I still can't get on board with still but if the numbers say it's effective then I have to accept it for now I guess.
if you still have last night's game recorded check it out there were a couple times aj cost us strikes because of poor receiving think it was fsu who pointed out how he caught a breaking ball palms up might not seem like that big a deal but it is those extra pitches could have meant another inning from kersh ultimately it didn't matter as our pen shut them down but any time you can avoid using baez (or hatcher or howell) it's much less stressful btw, how about our pen lately? blanton has been better than advertised and seems to be oozing confidence out there
Fair enough but I felt Kershaw was off the entire night so I don't think he would have lasted passed the 6th even with that pitch. Sometimes catchers get crossed up but no harm no foul as you wrote. Pen has been real good since the last couple of weeks (knocking on all the wood I can find).
