They were only a few who were privy to the convo and they aren't exactly clear so that is the point I was trying to make. I don't blame the mother at all she has every right to feel that way but it would have been nice to blame the actual people who killed her son.

Just the presidency of the United States...Not saying this is the biggest deal ever, but to act like it means nothing would be a bit of an understatement. It's at least very embarrassing.

No man, this has nothing to do with the presidency of the US.
It was a platitudes filled speech at a self congratulatory party for political hacks.
Or do you think 'news' is actually being made at these events.

I agree to a point with your reasoning....but I have witnessed a mother losing a son, up close and very personal, and believe me, they go through not wanting to live, totally incommunicado, deep depression, physical debilitation, etc., etc.
But they don't lie about it.
And still...the source is an abomination.

Very well could be the case I don't know. I do know it's really unfair to me to blame someone who wasn't even in Bengazi at the time. It's like blaming gun violence to guns and the Commander in Chief when you lose a loved one in the military.

If your the one whose job it is to give the command for a go, or actually pushes the button, and you don't protect those under you that you are sworn to, it's fair.

The republican national convention, the event where the party officially nominates their candidate for president of the US, and the prospective 1st lady giving a speech on such, has nothing to do with the presidency of the US??? o_O

I understand It's just a bunch of political grandstanding BS and the nominees are already established but still that is the official purpose.

Changing up, did anyone else hear/see that for the first time in 30 years, a matador was gored to death in the bull ring?
Having been sickened by this grotesque blood spectacle years ago, I admit, probably to my eventual shame, that I want to stand up and cheer for the bull.
At the very least an "attaboy", El Toro...
Yeah, payback is a bitch, man.

No matter what party you are affiliated with, parts of that speech were a straight up embarrassment. Not necessarily Mrs. Trump's fault (except that she said she wrote the speech?), but an embarrassment nonetheless at this point in the game.

I guess Alaska was the fly in the ointment today. Their votes were all given to Trump when in reality they had divided them up among 3 candidates. Their Rep was none too happy with the recording secretary. This convention has been entertaining like a train wreck, besides his kids you could argue the biggest speaker is Dana White so far. Okay cheap shot of the day for me, here goes. Interesting how a guy named White was a prominent speaker given the demographics of the majority of delegates. :D

    Is this true?
Due to the "deal" we cut with Iran, so applauded, Iran can now make a nuclear warhead in half the time it would take before the deal ?
This is the first outcome we've been waiting for behind the deal ? Wow.
What else are we waiting for I wonder?

This speech might sway waaaaaay more voters than spoiled Trump Jr.

The UFC president spoke at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday evening on behalf of Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White spoke at the Republican National Convention on behalf of Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, on Tuesday evening (July 19, 2016) in Cleveland, Ohio.

White, 46, addressed the crowd when he took the podium by saying, "What's up GOP?" and said he would tell those in attendance about the Donald Trump that he knew.

The UFC president began his speech by mentioning when he and the Fertitta brothers first conducted business with Trump after they took over the UFC in 2001. Both UFC 30 and UFC 31 events were held at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and White expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Trump's willingness to host the promotion during the dark days of the sport.

"In 2001 my partners and I bought the UFC and it was basically considered a blood sport," said White. "State athletic commissions didn't support us, arenas around the world refused to host our events. Nobody took us seriously. Nobody ... except Donald Trump. Donald was the first guy that recognized the potential that we saw in the UFC and encouraged us to build our business. He hosted our first two events at his venue; He dealt with us personally. He got in the trenches with us and he made a deal that worked for everyone. On top of that, he showed up for the fight on Saturday night and sat in the front row. Yeah, he's that guy. He shows up. Donald championed the UFC before it was popular, before it grew into a successful business and I will always be grateful--so grateful--to him for standing with us in those early days. So tonight, I stand with Donald Trump."

White said the three things he respects most about Trump is that he has "great business instincts," is a "hard worker," and said for 15 years Trump has been a "loyal and supportive friend."

"I know if I needed Donald he would be there for me just like he was when I first met him," White said. "He's one of these guys that sometimes he will pick up the phone and say, 'Hey, good luck with the fights tonight. I'm going to be watching,' or whatever it is that we might have going on, and he always reaches out to me when something has happened in my career."

Trump's interest in White and the UFC is "personal," White made sure to mention. And White says that is what really shows Trump's "true character" because he is genuinely happy for the UFC's success. The Republican nominee's "sense of loyalty and commitment will translate into how he will run this country," White said.

White closed his near four-minute speech by saying Trump is just as much a fighter as those he's seen compete inside the Octagon and throughout his career as a fight promoter.

"Let's be honest folks. We need somebody who believes in this country. We need somebody who is proud of this country and who will fight for this country. Let me tell you something. I've been in the fight business my whole life. I know fighters. Ladies and gentleman, Donald Trump is a fighter and I know he will fight for this country. Thank you very much have a great evening."

I don't know 'what' is going to happen in November but I do know that a whole lot of people listen to Dana White. The man is the quintessential no bullshit speaker. He tells you EXACTLY what is on his mind at all times in front of all audiences. His believe-ability factor approaches 99% and as an engineer I do not give out 100% grades. Now he can be wrong and he'll admit it so the key is in listening to precisely what bit of Trump's act he's willing to endorse and knowing what their prior history is. Trump was THE HOST at the first two UFC shows after Dana and the Fertitta's purchased UFC and both sides made big bank each time ..so of course they're friendly. What hustling promoter and multi-convention center owner would not be? So of course Dana is obliged to fellate Trump when Trump needs a stroke. Of course. Of course.

That said.. Dana choose wisely to embrace Trump the Fighter rather than Trump the Leader or Trump the Diplomat...or Trump the Resort Owner... ...or Trump the Tax Dodger

Still this was a HUGE win for Trump why? Because Dana White spoke TRUTH in everything that he said.

And TRUTH is rarely found within the moldy rat infested walls of politics.
