Uh oh J.P. HoornstraVerified account @jphoornstra 7m7 minutes ago Per @jacobunruh, of the two players the Dodgers optioned to OKC yesterday, Ross Stripling has a locker and Yasiel Puig doesn't. So maybe Puig is going to AA or Rancho instead Smh This is crazy I never even saw that they specified which affiliate Puig was headed to TBH
Agreed, the post was more of a mgt WTF in that they are tossin the rookie out there with SVS, Kiki, and AJ in the lineup. You send that line up out with Kershaw not a AAA kid. Im not holdin out hope for many runs this evening.
I bet he is here in anticipation of Brock getting shelled and being pulled in the 3rd. Urias then comes in as a multi inning bullie guy........that would be fine with me because for him it is like a start.
Losing lib beyond 15 days would really hurt. He and blanton have been saviors 1a and 1b for the pen. Hoping he gets back soon and julio can give us a couple good innings here and there.
LAST chance in my mind for SVS!!!! He can however go 0 - 4 but he better be hitting line drives at people darn it.
Has elbow irritation so, tbh I'll be surprised if he's back anytime soon if ever this season. The injuries are a disaster. Just all been clustered and there's nothing really to blame since loads of guys getting hurt with injuries they've never had or in weird ways. Just really sucks and yet I can't believe we're 2 games out of 1st and in the lead for the wild card. Find ways to keep winning I guess cause the team looks like it should be destroyed with those i juries
Puig has to clear option waivers (whatever that is, which takes 48 HR's (only been 24). He will be there tomorrow
Doyerfan, Well, points well taken...but...some might say the assemblage of a pitching staff which was injury prone to a man previously, except for CK, has reaped what was sown by their signings in the first place. Not one was healthy throughout his career. Not one. All DL guys. You tempt fate for whatever reasons ( and we all know why), and this is what you are left with. And eventually, the bp collapses from the SP inability for innings. Blame gets you nothing in the end, but it does explain a whole lot...maybe not everything, but a whole lot.
Wood got injured swinging and hadn't been injured seriously before in MLB, Bolsinger was never hurt before, Yimi/Libby/Coleman never had arm injuries, De Leon never had an injury before, Montas never had an injury before. The injury prone guys that were assembled were Hill, McCarthy, Anderson and Ryu, with Ryu not really being a part of the assembling and Hill with a blister that as of now should only make him miss 1 start. So really, unless theres something we're missing out there that they should've known about the other injuries, the two injury prone guys they purposely got with the knowledge that they get injured a lot: McCarthy and Anderson. One of which got Tommy John which is not something you predict. Maybe I'm looking at it too optimistically but I can't see how a lot of this isn't just shit luck and it's been damn good we've had the depth to withhold it but who knows how much longer that can hold up.
