Seriously how the fuck did Jim motherfucking Johnson not give up a run that inning. Cocksucker who I might add pitched like horseshit for us gets some Ridiculously lucky catches and gets the save. God I hate that motherfucker with a passion . That last catch to end the game was ridiculous

Five shutout innings from the pen.

    He did his thing.
Which usually means he saves us lots of bases and runs and games.
Part of doing his thing is that once in a while it backfires.
Like bad luck I guess, except that there is no luck involved.
It is simply the cost of doing business playing the way he plays.
But one backfire every so often is well worth it.
Specially if the alternative is a less athletic and less skilled guy who makes the right play more often than not but only because he rarely goes outside of his general vicinity to make plays. Some players would rather let a ball go and pretend they couldn't make an attempt at a play and then go back and get it than to try and make the big play and then look bad.

I love players that don't care if they look bad.

    one thing to look bad
but that was a poor decision
that ball was slicing away from him the whole time
he has to be smarter than that

No he does not have to be smarter than that.
Because he is not smarter than that.
Its like saying that he has to be taller than that.
Or since you like analogies to be 'more' perfect it is like saying that he needs to jump higher or be faster.

    bad analogy [as usual] :poke:
    height can't be taught/learned
but puig has shown he is capable of making smarter/better decisions
like when he takes pitches to right field instead of trying to pull everything
or hitting cutoff men instead of airmailing throws
    again i love his effort
but i'm sure even he, in retrospect, knows he used poor judgement

maybe if you ask him with Dave and the FO next to him and cameras and mikes in his face.
if you ask him privately he would probably say.... "I regret, nothing".

PTI and Around the Horn using the booing of MehCarthy last night as part of their shows? Of course as per usual it was an opportunity to bash the fans for the reputation of leaving early.

    going to disagree
he knows it was a poor decision
right/center he has someone backing him up
down the line with a ball slicing away it's just him
if it's 8-0 in the 9th go for it
but at the time it was a 1-run game and mehcarthy hadn't completely shit the bed yet

Around the Horn has always been too stupid to watch, but PTI has really declined. Wilbon and Kornheiser have turned into such grumps that hate on everything.

Puig is a wild ass of a man. What you want from him he cannot give you. Be happy with what he can give you.
When he tries to give you what you want it starts messing with his confidence and then his game goes to the crapper.
Because he is wild. Which means he is free not domestic. Trying to domesticate him will be a fools errand. Too difficult.
You will only end up breaking him. Which is what you have to do to a wild horse if you really need to tame him enough for domestication.
But we do not want to tame him. We dont want him timid. We already have a guy with the yips on the team.
We want the wild horse who is smart enough to make the big play, but not that much smarter.
When you have a player like Puig you do not want him using his head that much... it isnt his strongest muscle.
    You want the wild horse.
We already saw the wild horse when they were trying to domesticate him.
The body was willing, but the spirit was gone.
