    Both.

Naylor is a former top-100 prospect in the majors now, plays 1B, lots of team control - the Dodgers have Beaty and Rios, but they don't have the same pedigree.
Hedges is a defensive specialist at C, a couple years of control, bad bat - the Dodgers have a bad defensive catcher with a questionable bat in Barnes, or a top catching prospect in Ruiz who would have way more value than Hedges.
Arias is a solid SS prospect, who is not nearly the prospect that Lux is, but probably better than anyone else in our farm system.

@BlueMouse nailed it. Our farm is good, but the Padres are next level at this point. They’ve been rebuilding for years so a lot of their guys have had plenty of looks. For us, our system was very top heavy with two of the best prospects in baseball (May and Lux) and most of our intriguing prospects needed to show out this season to either backup some intriguing closes to the season(Gray, Cartaya, Hoese, Busch, Grove etc...) or take that unexpected big step forward (Pages, Rodriguez, DeJesus and like 5 other random dudes every year with this club). That’s how the Dodgers continue to be in the top of the league with their farm is the constant refilling of spots from unexpected places. So to compare the trades with a club that has a loaded farm with top of the draft pedigree guys is tough. Don’t think we coulda matched... now could we have had the Sox not balked after getting their feelings hurt? That’s a different story.

I can’t begin to describe the kind of pain I would feel if the Padres win a WS before we win one again

If the Dodgers offer Lux, he blows away the Padres deal by himself. Other than that my guess is we are looking at a package centered around May or Ruiz. Because our FO has been tight with Lux and May (for good reason), I have to imagine that if we were really a finalist for Clevinger, then Ruiz was probably the headliner. A package around Ruiz would look a lot different than the Padres package.

Honestly, the biggest moves the Dodgers could make are the returns of Bellinger, Pederson and Muncy to an already strong lineup and the club letting Smith take the load at catcher. It is funny how everyone is talking about Nola being one of the best catchers in baseball since coming up, but there is Smith right behind him in WAR with roughly 50 less games played. Results aside, Smith has been hitting the shit out of the ball and they need to let him fucking eat. No more of this splitting shit with the mediocre backup catcher. Time to see what he AND Lux have in store.

Don't disagree with any of that, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with Kershaw, Buehler and ???? as playoff starters. May is the only one I think could be a viable playoff arm this year and he's still developing.

No shit about Lux. With the shortened season he needs all the reps he can get. If this was a normal 162 game season and they were bringing him up right now, we'd be talking about it being a really late call-up for someone we are hoping can make the postseason roster.

Listening to hack after hack, salivate over the Clevinger/SD coupling, and maybe rightfully so, it winds up ultimately disheartening for the Dodgers and of course, their jaded fans. Not hecause they got him and we didn't so much (although it sucks deeply), it's an in depth review of signings made at the deadline that absolutely solidified a World Series championship, most recently, the Nationals and Daniel Hudson. But others, too...
and I remember ours...Yu, Machado, Manny...etc. Not one has worked. Not one. Why? Will Betts be enough ?
    Great FO...great organization...great (ahem) manager...great players...great PR...great coaches...on and on...
So what is it then ???All that looms in the whole thing is 88.

The one positive is that the 28-man roster is going to continue throughout the playoffs. That means we could very well see a 16-man pitching staff.

I think Buehler, Kershaw, May, Bullpen would be the plan if the playoffs started today. It would look messy, but I actually don't feel overly worried. Now, IF Kershaw or Buehler were to get hurt, it would could be really bad. But if they are both healthy we can roll with it.

I agree, but since he's a free agent after this year I just don't think he would move the needle much for the overall value of a trade. A huge factor was how much cheap, team-controlled assets the Indians could get so they can save money.

I want to see the Dodgers counter with a trade for JD Martinez, just because it would be fun.

A trade for JD Martinez is somewhat complicated because he has 2 more years on his deal, but an opt-out after this year.

Also, just opened Twitter to see "Phillies acquire Pitcher David P...." and legit freaked for a second thinking the Dodgers had pulled off some weird move. Man, can't understate how much his opt-out hurt this club.
