Throw in a major arm injury and it's a slam dunk.

Garcia going to Minnesota, so they could still see him next week.

and he'll get Dodgers in key situations. Sadly that's how it works.

There's a certain mystique to Britton, similar to Miller because of his complete dominance. But we have to live in the present and the FO seems concerned that they won't be getting the same Britton. But man...even a slightly less good Britton is excellent.

Hm... that could add to my idea of getting a short term 1B since there's more options there and move Cody to LF and Taylor to 2B

Forsythe has been amazin versus lefties but god awful against righties this year. My only fear with him is that I don't know what his upside is at this point. He's a solid player for a full season I guess but not really a big impact player, if that makes sense

Why mess with a lineup that's working?

I don't see it and I seriously doubt this source.

Kyle Farmer is more major league ready, but Smith and Ruiz are considered to have more upside.

If you ask me, trading Barnes creates way too big of a liability. Our strength is our depth. No injury knocks us out. But trading Barnes means we are one injury away from Kyle Farmer starting with Bobby Wilson backing him up. And Grandal is probably the most likely non-pitcher on our team to get injured. I could see trading Barnes in the offseason and giving Farmer an entire season to catch our pitchers, I get that 100%. But the last thing we need is a rookie catcher unfamiliar with our pitching staff in the playoffs. Not for a team that runs on depth. No way.

Games would be a lot like last night if Britton pitched like he did last season. Dodgers would only need to win in 7 innings.

If we trade Forsythe I would think it would be to a contender. What contender would want to give us something of value in return? And how is that better than an experienced player who can cover a lot of positions?

Apparently with the way he performed in the WBC, has them confident that he will be able to handle big league pitching. With that said, that was just mostly me thinking out loud that he was what they had in mind. It could be that they think they can acquire someone better in the OF instead. I have a feeling that he is a part of something bigger, like one of their 3 teamers. Maybe someone that is in need a solid super utility player. IDK, I think that it is a bit of a wild idea to shop him right now.

sounds like a big if and if Britton was pitching anything like last year he wouldn't on the market.

True, but pitchers tend to improve under our watch.

Taylor has the higher trade value. Maybe MGT uses Taylor to get Britton with the idea of bringing up Verdugo to take his place.

He is our third best hitter. They aren't trading Taylor unless something huge besides Britton is coming back in return.

    Not too surprising.
Think you and I talked about it not too long ago..can't just not bring Forsythe back next year.
Contract is too valuable, ability to play so many positions as well..have to get trade comp for him.
He's not nearly as bad as he's played this year, the toe injury had to have thrown him off course.
But Taylor did the unthinkable..nobody's fault.
