    Only impact starter on the market at the final deadline in August
    Verlander in 2016 form over the last couple months
    Plus just general desperation from HOU´s side after coming up empty earlier causing some of their players to bitch and moan about the lack of moves
    Avila had a shit load of leverage here, even with the contract
    If I´m a team that has my payroll in order going forward, and I´m not staring the luxury tax in the eye, I´m on Verlander 110% [no homo]
    Rather dump 40M on Verlander over the next 2yrs than fork over the 100+M that Arrieta´s looking for after this season

    Exactly only chance it matters is in the WS and that's not guaranteed for us both. Should I feel bad that I pray for a WS more than for humanity?

    It's pretty funny how I keep reading about the DBacks and Cubs talking about wanting to face the Dodgers in the playoffs and they're matched up well and wtv. The DBacks have to win a one game playoff that is extremely difficult before even getting that chance, they should talk about that. And the Cubs not only haven't secured their division, but should probably talk more about the Nats, who have an elite front 3 rotation

    Culberson called up along with Josh Fields back on the roster. MehCarthy sent to 60 day DL so he's out which will absolutely not sit well with this board I am sure!! :D

    i knew what you meant :headpat:
    i didn't like the signing because of it being 4 years
    same with the 3 years we gave kazmir
    no reason to give multi-year deals to bottom of the rotation guys
    mccarthy's deal was based on ½ good season in nyy, kazmir the same in oakland
    they were shit before that and have been shit since
