Darvish Morrow Watson Cingrani are 4 nice improvements the FO made to pitching since the end of last year.
Plus the guys that have come up to provide help.
And the guys he got the year before in Maeda and Hill were big help too.
The breakout pitchers this year in Woods and Baez helped alot, too bad Baez cant be trusted and Wood is soft but they took big steps forward this year. Next year they may be able to fix the psychological parts of their game that are still holding them back from being great at their job.

Pitching is not a problem for us, we pitch by committee though which does not always put our best group working at the same time.
With the idea that by the time October rolls around you have a group of players from which to create that best group of pitchers for whatever specific team you are about to face.

I think October rolls around in about 3 1/2 hrs.
    NJ anyway.
Much much later in LA, I guess.
In NZ's town, it's almost November, I think.

Dodgers prep Darvish for Game 3 start
    By Ken Gurnick / MLB.com | @kengurnick | 9:08 PM ET
DENVER -- The Dodgers held Yu Darvish's Saturday throwing session on the Coors Field mound instead of the bullpen, indicating that the Trade Deadline acquisition will probably start Game 3 in the National League Division Series presented by T-Mobile.

"Instead of putting him in the 'pen, if for some reason he has an opportunity to pitch here, just to get him a little more familiar with the mound," said manager Dave Roberts. "It was my view, because it's different here and Yu just loves information. He takes it all in and applies it accordingly."

Clayton Kershaw has already been named to start Game 1 at home. Rich Hill figures to start Game 2 at home, with Darvish starting Game 3, either at Arizona or Colorado. Kershaw would be available to start Game 4 on short rest.

Darvish has never pitched at Coors Field, so the Saturday session gave him an introduction to the mound and background at a ballpark generally considered the toughest in the league for a pitcher. Darvish had his only career start against Colorado earlier this month in Los Angeles, where he allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings. He's 2-0 with a 2.75 ERA in his career against Arizona and 1-0 with a 4.26 ERA at Chase Field.

Hill is 0-3 with a 10.38 ERA at Chase Field and 0-2 with an 8.80 ERA at Coors Field, reason enough why the Dodgers would want him starting Game 2 at Dodger Stadium.

I'd like this in a 7 game format as well. Come back to Darvish for Game 7

Dodgers figure to go with Kershaw/Hill/Darvish, in that order, in playoffs
by Andy McCullough | Los Angeles Times — 5 hours ago

With Clayton Kershaw primed to start Game 1 of the National League division series, the Dodgers are lining up Rich Hill and Yu Darvish to pitch behind him — in that order. Hill is set up to pitch the second game at Dodger Stadium, with Darvish on track to start on the road in the third game.

The Dodgers have not formally announced their plans, which could change in the days leading up to the start of the first round Friday. But Hill is slated to throw a simulated game Monday, which would place him on regular rest for Game 2 on Saturday. Darvish will undertake a similar assignment Wednesday, putting him in line for Game 3 on Oct. 9.

The Dodgers will not know their opponent until Wednesday, when Arizona hosts Colorado in the wild card game. But the team can still plan ahead.

Hill has excelled at home this season, with a 2.77 earned-run average at Dodger Stadium, compared to a 4.06 ERA on the road. He permitted six runs in 3 2/3 innings to Arizona at Chase Field on Aug. 29. Last season, he gave up four runs in 5 1/3 innings in his lone appearance at Chase Field. Hill has not pitched at Coors Field since 2008.

Darvish has never pitched here. That was one reason he threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on the mound before Saturday’s game. Darvish received advice from pitching coach Rick Honeycutt about the perils of this ballpark.

“Yu just loves information,” manager Dave Roberts said. “He takes it all in, and then applies it accordingly.”

Darvish presents a mirror image of Hill: He has shined on the road, with a 2.44 ERA. He struck out 10, but gave up two runs in a five-inning outing at Chase Field on Aug. 10.

Roberts has not revealed who will start a fourth game, if the series requires one. Alex Wood figures to be the most likely candidate, though the team may want to use him as a reliever. Hyun-Jin Ryu has looked vulnerable against Colorado this season, and gave up five runs in two innings Friday.

And, of course, there is always the possibility of Kershaw pitching on short rest. The Dodgers do not want to resort to that option. But they did not want to resort to that last October, and Kershaw started on short rest twice.

Brandon McCarthy is dealing with an illness, and is not a candidate to start Sunday’s regular-season finale, Roberts said. The team has not decided who will start the game.

It also gives the other team a bigger adjustment to work out than going CK to Darvish. Primarily heat and slider to primarily curve ball and off speed stuff.
