    even if we get shut down by Newcomb, at least it's happening where we've already scored 4 runs and not when he's starting a game. He's the one pitcher who could start a game and just easily shut us down, as we saw earlier this year. Just a weird, weird call to do this IMO but we'll see

    He basically waves the white flag against lefties. He's accepted he's not good against them (and knows the team has low expectations) and goes up there with no focus.

    I'm really glad this is the only time we get Costas/Smoltz (after this it's Davis/Smoltz I believe). I feel like I'm listening to two 70 year old men who haven't watched baseball in a couple years call a game.

    And not even discussing it well.
    No mention of particular starts (1 run over 7 innings with 11 Ks in game 1 of the WS), pitching on short rest (2013, 14, 16), etc. Just "He's 7-7" "He was actually okay last season...3-3"
    Just horrid.
    He deserves criticism. But at least go in depth.

    Roberts and the front office have repeated about the days of rest being a factor and the data that backs it up... but everyone thinks it's this hugely symbolic fuck you. They're acting like they sent him to the bullpen
