While Mattingly acknowledged Beachy and Zack Lee are among the options being considered to start Saturday, he also said it could be a bullpen game — the Dodgers’ third this season.
Didn't realize how unimpressive our back end rotation looked. It doesn't actually inspire confidence. It works on occasion, but wondering if there is a longer term solution on the horizon.
It's more than abuse. I know people are going to defend dum dum, but I truly believe he has no feel for which pitchers to use in what situation....which BP pitchers are ready, rested, more effective in one situation vs the other. Maybe it's because he was a hitter and not involved in the pitching aspect during his career like Bochey. I know Honeycutt is also to blame, but I wished we had a former pitcher as the manager at some point.
I'm going to the game tomorrow, cool I get to see Brandon Beachy! (At least more interesting then Yimi Garcia starting with Surkamp behind him)
well, ideally, Puig haha. Puig, Kendrick, Turner, Adrian, Grandal, Joc, Andre, Rollins. Well, now that looks ugly with Adrian-Grandal-Joc-Andre being a great area for a LOOGY to navigate, but putting Rollins somewhere in there kinda sucks. If not Puig, I like Turner or Kendrick there. They are good hitters. Turner, Kendrick, Adrian, Grandal, etc. Not just cause Joc is struggling would I like him lower, but he's one of the top 3 power bats in this lineup and hitting all of his dingers with no one on base. But also, now I'm going in circles with myself cause his strikeouts probably don't hurt as much in the leadoff spot with no one on base usually meanwhile lower in the lineup you get more chances where you need some sort of contact. This was a long and pointless post.
