I've watched maybe 15 total innings this season. Things are going to get real bad for this organization real quick. The empty seats show the apathy right now. Invisible on television, lackluster weekend support, declining on-field product, etc. Blame the luxury tax if you want, but it is what it is. Nobody is gonna save this ship. The players will not and cannot bounce back from their choke job. Seager will flatline as a top 3-5 SS who fizzles down the stretch and never really carries an offense like the Turner types.
There is nothing even remotely interesting about watching them now...nothing. To sleep, perchance to dream...
Whether it's the luxury tax or taking postseason appearances for granted, the organization made a decision this offseason not to improve the team. Simple. We are in the era of the super team. Mediocrity isn't going to win you a championship. You have to be a powerhouse. We took a huge step back this offseason. Some by default (104 wins, career years) and some by personnel decisions (Matt Kemp is starting for us!) So when the July deadline rolls around, we will be trying to make a trade that puts us in the superteam category of the Astros, Cubs, Yankees, Indians, etc. Not to exceed them. This is bad and like Diablo and BZ said, there is nothing to watch. We all care about this team. It takes a lot to be completely indifferent. But I'm getting there. 2014 (first year of TWC blackout) I was in a similar spot with hardly watching. Getting that feeling again. Oh well, I'm far more productive this way. They will pull me in at some point (knowing me, layer tonight), but I can't watch this garbage right now.
