    I get it, but Hernandez didn't exactly play that ball too well. Holding that to a single instead of the wall, would have meant a whole lot...unless that wasn't Grove.
    I as kinda busy with earthquake and aftershock. shit.
    That game to me seemed impossible for us to win, I thought. Just zero luck and in control of incompetence wearing navy blue.
    It's pitiful now how they can effect the bottom line.
    Really a serious problem in the outcome of games.

    Yeah he had a game to forget. Just love how we play these early day games in the low 40’s with wind. Hope our new pitcher is t hurt pitching in this type of stuff

    I come away so far with two basic thoughts ( aside from the irrefutable fact that the umpiring competence MUST be addressed), is that the Cubs are pretty damn good. Their D is something to be admired, and their O can be potent.
    The other is, good innings and escapes from big traffic multiple times aside, Yamamoto looks like a really expensive .500 pitcher.
    Now it's way too early ( and admittedly, maybe silly) to make any kind of definitive categorization, and his stuff, which looks unhittable but certainly isn't in the MLB at least so far, he could be the biggest overpay in a long, long time.
    Maybe ever.
    It behooves Joe and Orel to lionize every K he gets for sure. But Ks are like assholes.Everybody got 'em.
    And maybe just a smidgen of caution swirling around is that the staff is going to need some measure of consistency...it's looking pretty bi-polar in the first week or so, anyway.
    But 8-3 aint bad, is it ?

    i can't remember that last time he was locked in for any significant stretch
    in spring it looked like he was having some success leveling his swing but he's back to full launch angle uppercut again right now
