for the life of me I don't understand why we don't have an automated strike zone by now. these calls are totally ridiculous

Kid you not, I was rooting for an AB strikeout to give Mookie a shot because I feared the alternative was a game ending DP.

Chalk up this loss as follows, IMO:

    Scarecrow's lineup and substitutions - 70%
    Vesia vs a LHB - 20%
Miller falling behind in counts - 5%
    Ohtani getting gunned down -5%

Lefty/ righty matchup. Incredible as it is to contemplate when CT is the one.

    Dave Roberts logic
pinch hit Taylor who is 1 for the season with a billion strikeouts for Outman (who hit lefties decently well last season, and got a hard base hit earlier in the game off a lefty)
Smith for Lux instead of Barnes, because he'd rather have Barnes take an at bat instead of Lux (WTF). That was the stupidest shit I've ever seen. not to mention that piece of shit taking Miller out after 73 pitches.

Beyond comprehension. A Chris Taylor strikeout there was about the most predictable outcome ever. And Outman is at his hottest point of the season. A L/R matchup doesn't even get close to justifying that move.

Just pulled up that last inning. My boy walks in and sees Taylor hitting... he says, "Strikeout. Right, Dad?"

    Raising him right. ...

I don't know how old your son is huh?, but even a child can see what the manager of this team can't. And that's not an exaggeration.

Dave’s already low IQ drops an additional 30 points when it’s a day game. Predictable loss.

He's six. I have been teaching him how to keep score in baseball. He knows that Taylor, Outman, & Muncy are K or backwards K ... between the three, it's 50% likely.

All I know is that one fucking stolen base for the Redsox was ridden gob- smackingly into a glorious, great life for him. He was a pretty average ballplayer like thousands of others, and if there's such a thing as being born under a lucky star or planetary juxtaposition, then this guy's the template for it.
And I had a sobering thought, and I wasn't even drunk....it's entirely possible that Dave Roberts, behind the incredible divisional success he's been around for with these super elite teams he's been given, could go into the Hall of Fame...as is... without ever winning another World Series.
