    Tells you how little OPS should be used as a tool to compare player A and player B.
    Clearly Bellinger is having a bad year at the plate, you can see it. But if you compare his OPS to other players who are obviously having nice years offensively they may not have an OPS as high as Cody.
    99% of people who favor modern statistical analytics over old fashioned baseball wisdom have as shallow of an understanding of their chosen preference as just knowing that the player with the higher OPS is better.
    There now I am progressive and smart.

    nerds use the roster during the season as an extended spring training to try out different dudes from the stockpile to see who is usable for the playoffs and who we can trade.

    Bench: Taylor, Puig, Farmer, Kike, Utley

    Take all the platoon types, the streaky types, hole in their swing types, unreliable types on the bench or on the bottom part of the lineup.
    Keep the guys who show the most plate discipline and the ability to handle a bat and a situation like Machado, Kemp, Turner, Seager, and now Muncy as your top 5 hitters because you can rely on them to he professionals and produce at a good clip every series.
