I got fucking blazed and drunk before the game, because I knew we would shit the bed. Pretty sure I got the same loser mentality as the team. Sad, really.

I agree with removing Kershaw but IMO you gotta use Hatcher or someone better there. That's the most critical point in the game and you're bringing in a middle reliever. Maybe that's more on the "traditional" MLB way to use your pen but still.

    My thoughts

    1) I'm fucking tired of out-hitting opponents and losing. Seriously, when was the last time we fucking lost a playoff game where we didn't have more hits than the other team? Last year we lost to the Cardinals 3-1 but outhit them 39-30.

    2) last year Mattingly took out Kershaw too late. This year he took him out too early? Which is it guys? Kershaw looked gassed to me, I predict Wright would have owned Kershaw if he was left in, so I think taking Kershaw out was the right decision.

    3) Where the fuck is Kenley? I will probably ride this until the day I die, but the "closer" concept is old and retarded. Most likely if you were taking Kershaw out in the 7th it was going to be a high-leverage situation, so get your best fucking pitcher up in the fucking bullpen. Fucking closers are coddled pieces of shit. An average pitcher will succeed 70% of the time given a clean slate in the 9th. Fuck this bullshit. Grow a pair and make Kenley pitch with the bases loaded and the game on the line.

    4) Dafuq Adrian? 3 strikeouts when we need you to drive in runs? Dafuq?

    5) Kershaw struck Granderson out. I don't like to put games on umpires, but that was strike 3 on the outside corner - just saying.

    6) FUCK!

    7) No, Matheny isn't manager of the year just because the Cubs can only get 3 hits against a 50-year-old pitcher. Any manager will look good when that happens. I was, however, impressed with the announcing crew's ability to keep talking with so much Cardinal cock in their mouths.

If Kershaw gives up 2 runs instead of 3 last night are we still putting the blame on him?

Like, you can't win if you don't score.

Not his fault regardless. 100 degrees last night, when he loses his control like that, he should've come out. So DBB, take him out. That should've come after he walked the second guy that inning. Put Avilan in there for DeGrom and Granderson.

Kershaw was dominant most of the time he was pitching. DBB/Honeycutt have to know he's done when he's struggling there at the beginning of the 7th. If handled correctly, it could have very likely ended up being 1-0 still. Our offense was just shit and couldn't do fundamental baseball stuff.

And yes that K zone was incredibly inconsistent.

Do we get that call with our best pitch framer behind the plate is a question I asked myself all night. Regardless of the answer, I think it's high time Kershaw try a new partner. We're just about at insanity here.

Didn't someone post a stat showing that Kershaw had an ERA of 0.5-1 lower with Grandal behind the plate? I know he can't hit a ball at all right now, but that's huge

The sad thing is no Dodger drove the ball further than Kershaw last night.

That was me. Ellis had 2 or 3 starts with CK early in the season that ballooned his numbers, but even after that point Grandal still had the edge. It's always said enough to me that Greinke preferred Grandal. It's time to cut the cord between mama Ellis and baby CK tho. The desired results aren't happenin

That mid-shin strike didn't help either. I've never seen a strike zone that low before. I swear the ump fucked up that call with Turner up and he knew it, but just said "fuck it, that's the new strike zone."

What I loved was how pissed David Wright was getting when it was called against the Mets... As if it hadn't been called 10 times against the Dodgers before that, and as if Wright wasn't 90 feet away watching all those pitches. What a bitch.

Win today and at least give us a couple more days of optimism. I don't want good feelings about the Dodgers to have to wait another 12 months. It's not looking good to advance but at minimum, just win today and give us the smallest bit of hope we can come out ahead in an Anderson/Harvey matchup

The low strikes don't piss me off as much I guess because I've just come to expect them nowadays. The numbers just have shown that the strike zone is getting lower and lower and more strikes are being called on those low ass pitches, putting a premium on hitters that can drive pitches that come in low. Cespedes is gonna be big money Sonnie this winter partly because of his ability to smoke those pitches. When it's low and 98 tho...woo.

Sad thing is I got tickets for games 1 and 2 mostly cause I thought it'd be horrible to only go to Game 1 if they lose so my thought process was "they can't possibly lose both!"

    Fuck me if that happens

Good news is if we tie the series at 1, we are in a best of 3 against the Mets and not the Cardinals. So our chances at 1-1 is better than last year I suppose.
