That had me laughing. Especially the top part of it, Crawford swung at a ball practically head high and TBS had it in the strike zone. Also sad many pitches were wider than they really were and others were lower than they were. It was pretty terrible
Los Angeles Dodgers @Dodgers 2m2 minutes ago NLDS Game 2 #Dodgers lineup: Kendrick 2B Seager SS Gonzalez 1B Turner 3B Ethier RF Crawford LF Grandal C Hernandez CF Greinke P Kike in. Gave Joc a chance and he just didn't do enough. Seager still protected in a prime spot. I like it. 1-3 needs to get the job done tho. Cannot count on 4-8 to do a damn thing against power arms, but hopefully they have a day.
Yeah I don't get how that's funny. The chances of winning the series are slim. As any fan would, I'm looking for any reason to keep hope. And I think if we win tonight we're in a better position than we were last year since the Mets are not the Cardinals. Keep playing the belittling antagonist.
not a mattingly fan [as you all know], but it's hard for me to fault him for the 7th inning talk about a no-win situation... if kersh had stayed in and given up that 2-run single dbb would still be getting criticized sometimes shit just doesn't work out and instead of blaming the offense, i'm gonna give credit to degrom who truly rose to the occasion even kersh admitted as much and tell me some of you didn't [at the very least] wonder if the game might be over when murphy went yard i did it just wasn't our night but that doesn't mean tonight won't be as i said earlier... win tonight, take 1-of-2 in new york, and win game 5 here side note... i think the lds should be a best of seven and not just because of last night i'd say the same thing if we were up 1-0
I can't believe how far Joc's fallen. I just hope he can pick up the pieces next season. We don't need a Puig-like trend downward over multiple seasons. Onward and upward.
That was just awful all the way around last night. Line up was once again putrid, Donnie made the same dumb move that he did last year (should have been Hatcher) and Kershaw tried to be too cute in the 7th instead of attacking the hitters. WHY IS THIS TEAM SO FUCKING INEPT AT HITTING WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION!?! I think we are seeing the final days of Mr Mattingly on the Dodgers bench. The man has to be insane, as soon as he called for Baez I thought of this the man never fucking learns.
Also, I totally expect Greinke to empty his bag of tricks on the Mets tonight. He generally avoids certain pitches unless he needs them, down 1-0 and we need him to be downright unhittable tonight
I'm not sure confident is the right word here. Hopeful is more like it. We know Greinke has the stuff. But I fear the hitting again. And Grienke has to get to the 8th. Same story. Rinse and repeat.
Spoken as a Tru Blue fan. As a long time suffering fan, as most of us are, we have to hold on here. This game tonight is a MUST WIN. I think the team knows it, and will find a way do do it.
I like tonight's lineup, but I might at least find a way to get Puig into this game. At least you could see where his game is, where his heart is, and maybe he could "wreck it with an unexpected blow". He just might be that spark needed to relight the RISP fire this team is sorely lacking.
Look, it's way too early to write off the Dodgers in this series. There is a lot of ball to play. But with regard to Donnie, this is his last chance to get to a World Series. I really believe that. As someone said earlier, you can win as many NL West titles as you like, but the Blue play for WS titles, and sometimes you just need to shake it up. To me, it's like the 1999 Lakers. All the talent you needed, but you needed a Phil Jackson to put it all together the following year.
Yeah, today's lineup seems to be right to the point. All the quality hitters who hit premium power pitching right out of the gate. If Turner has another day like yesterday he might bring in 2 or 3 in Game 2. But at the same time it really sucks that Howie has to hit leadoff, our 2nd most trusted RBI guy. I guess that's what happens when half the lineup can only handle finesse pitching.
The more I think about the game yesterday the more I think holy fuck man DeGrom was just too damn good last night and wasn't getting beat even by the devil magic lucky fuck Cardinals! Dude was a beast. Dodger bats couldn't even put the ball into play against him really. Tonight I think will be a different story. They will need to shorten up their swings and get slap/bkitch hits if you need to but get on base! Rattle this kid. He looked nervous as fuck in his presser. Stadium better be rocking tonight and through the whole game. I hope Greinke is on his game cause if he is he will go 8 innings and not give up a run. But it all comes down to the offense. They need to make contact and put the pressure on Syndergaard. They did well working the count last night but now they need to get the hits when it matters... with risp!
