    I think it's time to move away from fan voting and just have a panel for each league put together the league's best team. Maybe have one or two spots the fans can vote on after the teams are picked? When I was a kid and I had that punch card in my hand at a game it felt special, but now email addresses vote 25 times each, it's just stupid. It doesn't help that I would prefer my guys get 3 days off to recover instead of messing up their swing trying to hit 500 ft HRs in a city not named Los Angeles. Fuck the All Star game.

    How is the HR Derby determined? The players are invited by MLB, or the individual teams come up with possibilities?
    I sure hope they are not thinking of anyone like Joc again...or Corey.
    The year Puig did it was so predictablely flaccid douchebaggery, and last year Joc disappeared after it for some reason, like a Clayton Koufax curveball.

    that's the part that pisses me off most
    asinine that an exhibition game -- that has nothing to do with what playoff teams accomplish during the regular season -- determines who gets home field advantage
    team with the best record should get home field in the wild card, lds, lcs and world series
    all the mlb asskissers pontificate that's selig's legacy is creating interleague play, splitting the divisions into thirds, and adding wild cards
    fuck that
    bud should be remembered for a botched all star game [tie], a cancelled season w/no world series, failing to acting [quickly enough] on steroids and creating and maintaining an unbalanced schedule

    The All-Star game tie was on the managers (Torre and Brenly) who managed it like a Little League game, making sure everyone played so no one's feelings would get hurt.

    but most of the stl fans i've met aren't that bad
    cubs bandwagon is out of control
    most of the idiots sporting cubs gear were wearing royals swag last year
    and it's all for naught...
    cubs will lose in the nlds regardless of who they face
