It will definitely be the same line-up, Doc has been pretty consistent with it, tweaked it with Toles when he came up. Maybe Dre in LF? Toles as a defensive replacement.
my bad actually forgot about toles (racist) only way dre starts would be in place of joc/josh/toles which would definitely compromise the defense
I think we can safely guess tomorrow's starting lineup. Haven't we had the same lineup in all 3 games vs RHP? I don't see that changing.
Dre is 8 -24 career including a HR against Max. http://www.espn.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/28976/max-scherzer
i alluded to that earlier but josh is 5-11 against him are you going to put dre in there (and on defense) instead of josh, joc or toles?
Dre isn't shabby out in left field and Joc has enough speed to cover a possible gaff. I'm not counting on Hill with short rest so I am willing to sacrifice a little defense for a guy with history of success. You get him a lead early and sub in Toles after let's say the 5th, nothing against Toles but Dre has hit this guy and we need offense. To be clear just a suggestion.
I like the suggestion and it isn't like he's a hack in the field. He's just not as good as Toles. Probably better than Howie, though
Glad you brought up Howie, he also hits Max but Chase doesn't but I'm betting that Dave won't go with reverse splits. I just want the best possible line-up based upon prior success. Max also gives up a lot of HR's so Dre is more of a power hitter to further my argument. JT!!! Why??? He just guaranteed a victory.
and a worthy suggestion but that's assuming we get a lead on max and hill doesn't falter not sure about either of those tbh max could make toles (or anyone) look bad if he's pounding that offspeed pitch on lefties back feet its his fastball that sometimes gets him in trouble
He's referring to game 5 or 7 situations. We won in those situations in 1988 (NLCS), 1981(NLCS), and 1965(WS)... I can't think of the other win. Of course our one loss was last year in the NLDS vs the Mets, so not sure we really want to talk about it. We usually win big or lose big.
In my mind, there's no doubt we lose tomorrow, watched the hope get stomped for years now. Got me thinking, I wonder if deep down the players also have that mentality? The ones who have been around for a while anyway. If I feel like it's a forgone conclusion, I wonder what guys like Gonzo and Turner are thinking. Been here, done this. That's why game five, we need a certified hero. A fucking Murphy. A cunt who says, fuck this, and gets it done. Who, if anyone will step up? Who knows. But one of these guys has a chance for a career defining moment, I just hope someone steps up and takes it, and the others rise to the occasion. This series, we haven't had one, everyone's been grinding. Someone needs to grab the game by the balls tomorrow, or it's see ya at spring training.
I'm starting to get nervous about tomorrow. We need to win. I have a strong feeling that the Cubs are going to find a way to choke in the NLCS, and it would be so sweet to be the team on the other end. There's no place like Wrigley when the Cubs hit the tiniest bit of adversity, that place is great.
i am trying to think about what to eat for tomorrow going back to watching it with mom ftw and i can't afford another night of madness for multiple reasons...
