    It'd make sense. All the backloaded two year deals, the ridiculously low payroll commitment (For this team) currently on the books for 2012. Just saying, it wouldn't be tough to make it happen if McCourt gave any type of go-ahead.

    who knows what's going on behind the scenes
    especially with boras
    wouldn't be all that surprised if he already had a deal in place with the new owner
    stranger things have happened
    and it would be a win-win for all concerned
    making everyone -- the new owner, selig, prince -- look good to the fans

    Really doubt the Nats sign him. Makes no sense for them. They dont have the revenue to support the contracts of Werth, Gonzalez, and Fielder, and they're going to have to pay guys like Zimmerman and Strasburg soon.

    I can. And it's an amazing thought.

    Imagine if we got a real 3Bman on the trading block too...and then signed the FA Phillips/Cano in the off-season...and then got Hamels.

    I just hate all this waiting and the "behind the scenes" shit makes me think of all these endless possibilities. The main fear for me is just being disappointed again. It makes all the sense in the world to sign Fielder. Just get it done already.

    For the record I don't think we are going to get anybody. Frank won't sign Prince, there is a small chance we will be active at the deadline, and next year's FA class sucks pretty hard.

    And Cain for that matter. Bu we are at risk of losing Ethier already and have holes and/or shit at LF, 3B, 2B, with possibilities of 1B being shit. Need some position players.
