Does a no-hitter against the Padres count as a no-hitter?

We truly are blessed to have the Padres in our division.

It was a no-hitter against the Padres. Slow down.

Well, Lincecum got all his against the pAAdres. Without SD, he'd have none. I figure last night's has to be worth at least 1/2 of a regular NH.

I'm gonna go back to the relievers from last night. Yimi looked exceptional and Liberatore also looked pretty good with the way Yas was mixing his pitch selection up. I know it was the Padres, but if both those guys can throw like that with more regularity, then the pen will be in a bit better place... Yimi starts pitching like that all the time and he is back to being that high leverage-back of the rotation reliever he was before the injuries crept up. Lib's chances of being that guy again are probably gone though, the uptick in velocity he had was an important part of his rise and now he is probably a LOOGY.

buehler and roberts after the game...

What Buehler said: "(Roberts) told me I was out of pitches and I was out of the game. I mean, that’s probably the toughest one of those conversations I’ve ever had. I obviously wanted to keep going, but it’s above my pay grade and they made the choice and these guys finished it out, it was pretty cool.”

What he actually meant: "(Roberts) is a fucken idiot. I hope he gets aids and dies."
    --------------------

What Roberts said: “With Walker, it was kind of just letting him know that was it for him, how well he threw and understanding how much of the game was left. He was totally complicit. Just understand where I was coming from, where the organization was coming from, what impact he has, how important he is for the organization this year and going forward. He completely understood.”

What he actually meant: “Wasn't my call. If the kid is upset he should talk to the feudal plantation lords, er, whitey, er, the man, er, the front office about it."

I gotta go with Dave on pulling him. The eventual team effort to complete the team no-no was inspiring and I felt the best for Libatore, who needed some kinda lift after that previous sad thing he threw.
A great team win in a thus far season of one disappointment after another.
    Bravo.
