Would be tight if he ends up in Double A sometime this year and you get Zachary and Puig together

I'm not going to pretend like I know much about the guy but o my damn does this get me excited. We just put every other team on notice basically telling them we are back. We are going to spend whatever it takes to win. I fucking love it.

Cubs and White Sox were in on the bidding:

Some scouts say that the league he was in is pretty much the equivalent to Low-A ball, so since he was really good there, maybe Rancho is a good place to start him.

Logical. We signed him basically without seeing him play in person so maybe we have a different view.

those fans dont look like they are being oppressed much over there
imagine how much money the communist government of cuba could extract from these players if it legalized the selling of athletes contracts like they do in other countries

tells you a little bit about the priorities of the cubans
they would rather keep the good players than the millions of dollars in fees that the japanese charge
and the cuban players are generally better than the japanese imo

watching that clip reminded me of eastbound and down

    Puig's stats
    http://www.claydavenport.com/ht/PUIGcubaY01.shtml

I would think this signing easily makes Puig one of the best hitting prospects we've had in years--although I think Seager would leap him if he signs. If he doesn't have Harper or Stanton power I'm hoping its close to Miguel Sano although some have him at an 80 power grade. I think Puig will play a month in HiA, finish out in AA, then play in the AFL.. I'm really hoping we sign Seager though as he will be a potential top 5 pick when he re-enters.

All indications are that Seager will sign, just waiting for Rodriguez to sign so they can give Seager what is left.

You'd think we would have heard about him before. Media loves Cuban players.

I guess Kasten was serious about what he said. They will spend to improve this team. I am beside myself right now to see the Dodgers come out on the winning side of a bidding war for a player. I forgot what that felt like it's been so long. I'm not talking about Ned outbidding the league for Uribe, Lilly and Harang. This is risky to give that much cash to an unproven player. But I would rather risk it then not and have Puig become an All-Star for another team. This signing helps the future. Now we need something to help the present.
