I pretty much facepalm every time I see that " 1st time the Dodgers have ever " headline. Here's a good look at how it should've always been I guess. I mean there's good in it because " win ", but the next manager that they hire could run off 3 in a row as well if they continue to spend 300MM on the payroll and continue to stuff the farm full of excellent prospects. The Dodgers have been setting all kinds of records for payroll since 2013..LaSorda didn't have that..Alston didn't have that. When you consider those things it's " meh " and like Bluezoo said if he falls short this year he could also be canned after winning 3 division titles in a row. It comes from being old, I would say...and keeping my eyes open, too. I don't have to be right every minute of every day...certainly not about baseball. There is way too much of it going on everywhere, and this place is surely no exception. It's not important at all to be "right" all the time...means nothing in the long run. If the guy wins, then he was right, and I (at least me anyway), was wrong. That's fine. I'm willing to say that, no problem. Of course, somewhere within the spacious, unfilled corners of my mind, lurks "he won in spite of himself"...but I could deal with it and shut my mouth because WS Champs. Yup.
So I guess I still have 2 wishes left. OK, I also need 1) to set the US record by winning a 50oMM lottery sweepstakes and 2) to watch the Dodgers, Lakers, and Raiders win titles until pigs grow wings
