    Seems the opinion of Eric Stephen is that they are holding Buehler for a potential tuesday start.

    I don’t know. But i don’t think they want to be stuck having to do it in an elimination game. Full 40-man roster on Monday helps a bit in swaying that choice

    The implication being that they could go bullpen game on monday, holding Buehler for a game they have to win.

    If we win the division with HFA against Atlanta, do you throw Buehler and Ryu at home for games 1 and 2? Or do you think Roberts will go with Clayton because "he's our guy"...?

    We know Buehler is our best pitcher and that is the only way he pitches twice in an NLDS. Ryu is absolute nails at Dodger Stadium. I'd go:
    G1- Buehler
    G2- Ryu
    G3- Kershaw
    G4- Hill/Buehler(short rest)
    G5- Buehler(regular rest)

    Not starting Scherzer is a dick move, no doubt, and has many ramifications, on many levels, imo.
    And I fully expect that Mad Max is well pissed off at this cowardly move... my gut reaction is that about him.
    But if he isn't, and is down with it, and embraces sitting there and watching someone take his turn, then he can go fuck himself forever.

    Yup. Never seen a manager legit give up on his team.

    And I know it sounds crazy to assign any blame to Kike...but what the hell was he doing? He literally lobbed the ball! Batting practice coaches throw harder than that. That was pathetic. At least TRY

    That’s true, so, I’m kinda glad we’re using with a million relievers behind him rather than a WC game where you have a 25 man roster. Not like our bullpen is worthy of bragging about but if you’re gonna use Hill, you probably prefer a large bullpen behind him

    There’s a million ways you can go with these last games but facts are, offense has to show up. Hill should be able to do decent against the shitty Giants but we’ll see.

    i don't think its an automatic loss
    just that the odds of the wheels coming off get higher the more it counts
    he's one of the greatest pitchers of all time and still has gas in the tank
    during the regular season

    Many thousands of pitches on that arm, and the traditional LA modus operandi is to ride the outstanding arm of their ace into null and voidism. They've done it generation after generation, and the effects of that is showing unmistakably with Kershaw.
    As constant as Polaris.
    It is the Dodger way.
