Best game since the summer league opener for Ingram Looked like the bright lights of TNT may have gotten to Kuzma Hope Julius is ok, he was having another really good game off the bench before that spill
Hope you're right, I wanna believe in Kuzma. Hart's gonna be a solid pro if he stays healthy, I can see it already..he's a little heavy legged, but it gives him a solid base defensively and he makes it work.
Not a single preseason minute played..Bogut makes the team as the 15th man Ramona Shelburne was right.
You dont bring in Bogut to fight for a spot. If he was here he had a secured contract. Dude is no longer the Andre Bogut of old but the dude does not need to try out for a team to see if he can get on a roster. He is Andrew Bogut who has for years been one of the top inside defenders in the game. C duo of Lopez/Bogut are a good tandem. One guy can get you easy buckets without sucking defensively with his size and agility while the other can bring you great defense without sucking offensively since he is a good passer and can score enough to remain a threat that has to be guarded. We would do well to keep these guys even if it means Ivica has to shuttle between the team and the South Bay Lakers. Watching these two professional NBA centers who have been top tier all stars not so long ago will be a great education for Ivica. Thomas Bryant too, he will be good to throw in to bang once in a while. PF is stacked now with the improving Randle and the surprising Kuzma, which leaves Nance as the odd man out. SF: Ingram needs to show something more, if not Kuzma will get more minutes here so Nance can play more at PF. Although I think Luke will try to play Deng some at least to showcase him for a trade. Im not sure why Brewer is still on the team. SG is in a good spot because KCP, Clarkson, and Hart make for a talented and deep set of versatile guys. PG is thin after Lonzo, but Caruso and Ennis are not horrible. Clarkson should get most of the backup minutes IMO as the combo guard 6th man for both PG and SG.
I can understand wanting to give Caruso a shot, but not because he's a better option than Ennis. Ennis hung 20 points on the San Antonio Spurs in a game last year. Have seen Caruso shoot air balls on multiple occasions this preseason like some bum..he has some talent, but he has work ahead of him
They probably going to bring in a veteran at some point to mentor Lonzo. Specially if LeBron comes. Even if only LeBron comes and can't bring Cousins or George we might still be in good shape if Lopez could be a better Kevin Love and KCP blossoms into the player most think he should become. Both could be resigned alongside a Chris Paul to take the Clarkson role as the 6th man. I dont think Paul will like playing in Houston more than one year. Bogut and Lopez cant play at the Lakers new pace but if they come in and out in shifts they can go max effort with plenty of breaks and not have to play full games. KCP, Lonzo, and Chris Paul make for a good 3 man backcourt rotation. LeBron, and Randle start at PF with Ingram and Kuzma as the backups. Clarkson, Nance, Ivaca, Bryant, Brewer, Deng, etc... are all out of the tight rotation and there if someone gets injured, traded, or is being rested during the regular season. PG: Lonzo, Paul, Clarkson SG: KCP, Paul, Clarkson SF: LeBron, Ingram PF: Randle, Kuzma C : Lopez, Bogut Paul 6th man, Ingram 7th man, Bogut 8th man, Kuzma, 9th man and that is the regular rotation. Clarkson is the 10th man and fringe rotation player when they want to play with 4 guards. With so much good PG play and passers like LeBron, Lopez, Bogut and even Ingram they should get the most out of their finishers. Its possible that Paul even starts at SG and KCP comes in as the 6th man since Paul is the star. The backcourt defense with both Paul and KCP would be really strong. A lineup of Paul, KCP, Ingram, LeBron, Bogut would be very strong defensively with plenty of firepower on offense. There are many ways to mix the lineups here to maximize situational possessions. Nance, Ivaca, Bryant, Hart, and Caruso become the deep bench trying develop themselves into rotational players in the minors in spot minutes or garbage time.
He'll get his shot down the line. For now, to the G-league with him for extensive work on his shooting. Ennis didn't have to show much in the preseason, he was going to make the team on credentials and what he showed down the stretch of last year's regular season when he was producing against NBA regulars
Have got to beat these going nowhere-ass Clippers on Thursday Zo being out would be the biggest downer ever
I hear Chris Paul is a punk with a Napoleon complex. I think everyone who has played with him eventually gets sick of his act.
He's been the alpha on every team he's been on. This would not have happened had his trade to LAL not been vetoed..he would've fallen in line behind Kobe. The same would happen if he were to team up with a LeBron, and rightfully so
