That's correct in theory, but neither KCP nor Ingram was really in position to be jumped into, both were pretty much to the side of Gordon. Although, KCP was closer..he might have gotten called for it if he had contested. I understand from KCP's perspective, a regular guy. Ingram's been granted the gift of go-go gadget arms and 6'9" height. He didn't even have to leave his feet. Must reach over. What happened to Ingram is more than likely what happens to a lot of guys in pivotal moments. They get caught up in the moment and end up being spectators. Richard Jefferson was talking about that the other day, how so many guys in the league freeze and watch and forget important shit in tight spots, himself included. If Gordon jumps to the side, into Ingram, that's an obvious call going against the offense. Refs don't miss those a ton. It's those times where the defender is in front that are tricky
I feel like Ingram could've even blocked that shot without much elevation at all. That's just how long he is Steph Curry and Harden, I see them jump to the side and get their share of calls. The non-stars benefit less. Although, I have seen Gordon try that a lot over the years. I can understand staying down on him. Just not from freaky Ingram's standpoint
Agree with all the other stuff you say, especially the freezing part, but I've seen a ton of plays this year where guys jump sideways and get a stupid call, especially involving the Rockets. Granted most of those are Harden, and to a lesser extent Paul. But I could see how that's just enough doubt to creep into a defenders mind and cause hesitation, especially after the shitty call the game before.

Was just going through my memory banks and I can remember Gordon at the very least trying it a lot, jumping to the side. Harden and other stars definitely benefit from it a bit. During the course of games you'll have a regular guy get that call on occasions. In pivotal spots late, though, I like LAL's chances there of not getting called for it, especially if it's Ingram reaching over and somebody other than Harden doing the shooting Ingram hesitates about a million times a game and misses moments. He had KCP wide open when he was inbounding, hesitated, and had to call a time out. Looking back I'm not surprised at all that he missed that moment. Zo is usually in the position of off ball rover on inbounds because he's super-alert defensively. I believe Zo would've probably blocked that bs
I hope Rondo is ready for the long haul with Zo and LeBron down. He should be the freshest guy on the team. I know there's this superhero called " playoff Rondo ", but I'd like to have that guy show up uhhh right about now.
