Not if this trend keeps up where he only plays well after the new year. I see him working on his trade value though Lol Lakers with a better draft pick, Ingram with perhaps more trade value..maybe we can get AD?
@PaulHeadleyNBA Feb 24 Since he returned from injury, LeBron James has been moving at the same speed on defense as Dirk Nowitzki (3.26 mph) LeBron literally doesn't move on defense....just stands near the hoop hoping for a rebound to pad his stats and pursue a triple-double.
...yep, he's a problem right now, that, and add in he is turning it over a lot, not as efficient at the rim anymore, and tonight chucked a couple of long ass 3's early in the clock in a close game. Ingram is literally the only one putting up right now. Rondo has been about the worst player in the league the past 2 games. He's clearly dogging it with awful defense, bad passes leading to turnovers and that motherfucker can't even come close on a wide open 10 foot jumpshot
He wasn't moving all that fast on defense before the injury, but his slower drives to the rim have definitely been evident since he got back. If he's not where he needs to be physically he may as well sit because this season never meant much anyway by Lakers' standards. Heard a rumor when he first returned that he's going to need sports hernia surgery
even a bonafide mebron hater like myself couldn't have foreseen such a spectacular clusterfuck has every chance of this team turning into a perennial last place loser again sure luke gets blame and loses his job but meebie and the FO deserve a lot of credit tweeting about his love for Irving and then talking about wanting to play w Davis all the while tragic sets about to offer the entire team in trade sure the kids are pros and should be able to shake it off but lets be honest here, its not going to happen might as well have taken a sledgehammer to the confidence that had been built the last couple of years my hope was always that he'd make them better and instead he literally pissed on them going to take a miracle to turn this around and its all laying at the feet of the ridiculously self proclaimed king and GOAT
The world of sports as a whole is going to come down on LeBron so hard if they miss the playoffs. Twitter and IG are just going to shut down completely. But that will be nothing compared to Kobe stans' assault on LeBron. Smh I'm here for it. The BR Game of Zones series has all the material they need right about now Lol
This is what I was afraid of when Magic took a FO job. For the same reasons he turned out to be a horrible coach, he is doing the same thing in the FO. Yes, you are a Hall of Fame player, but your overconfidence in your abilities will be your downfall. Making triple doubles as a player doesn't not mean every decision you make after your playing days is the right play. Signing up a bunch of 1 year mercenaries to save cap space, and then switch tacks and try to get an AD superstar together mid stroke was just stupid. You got outplayed in the FO by one of the worse GMs in Demps. Now you have a team made up of young guys who know they are expendable mixed with 1 year dudes who don't care anymore and a franchise player on the downside of his career saving it for next year. Oh, and add to that, a coach that you called out on the carpet early this season which pretty much undermined whatever little authority he had left.....and yet didn't pull the trigger on a coaching change. This is the Tragic Johnson of old....you know, the talk show....coaching...comeback player....NBA analyst Tragic. This team is much further away than I thought.
Ben GolliverVerified account@BenGolliver Lakers’ LeBron James after loss to Grizzlies (via @SpectrumSN): “If you’re still allowing distractions to affect the way you play, this is the wrong franchise to be a part of and you should just come in and be like, ‘Listen, I can’t do this.’”
Better yet why don't the Lakers wipe the stage and drop Luke for Shaw and put LeBron down for the season. The Tank Commander comes back as Shaws defensive assistant and mentor. Lonzo magically comes back from his injury and leads the team to the playoffs elevating every player on the roster with showtime. LeBron rejoins the team towards the end of the season and the team chemistry starts to drop and they lose badly in the first round. Or they tank and have a horrible finish with every young Laker hating LeBron and LeBron hating them. The NBA colludes to keep superstars from coming to the Lakers so they split the money into D'angelo Russell, Joe Harris, and Julius Randle. PG: Lonzo, D'angelo SG: D'angelo, Harris SF: Ingram, Harris PF: LeBron, Kuzma C : Randle/ Kuzma That's a tough top 7. It would be fun to have a Boston Celtics style team with 7 all stars on one team.
LAL currently twice as likely to get a Top 3 pick in the draft ( 6%) than they are to make the playoffs ( 3%). Win that draft lotto and tease the fuck out of the Pelicans..I wouldn't trade Zion for shit, certainly not when AD says he's focused on signing after next season anyway. Different situation from Paul George's..I know that's the 1st thought going through guys' heads in this scenario, but George was not repped by Rich Paul. If I'm Magic and I win Zion..still beat out the Clips for Kawhi, but everyone else is on borrowed time again. I trade Ingram, Zo and anybody else making substantial money for expirings and clear that space for AD. Should be just enough to squeeze him in during the summer given the increase in the league's salary cap. LeBron/Kawhi/AD/Zion in the summer of 2020
Lol...even Loul Deng can play once he gets away from the Lakers. http://m.startribune.com/luol-deng-...on-and-the-narrative-of-his-career/506385332/
i'm happy for Deng and never understood how it was possible that he had become totally useless somebody in this organization, maybe from the top down, has their collective heads up their asses
Smh Deng is averaging 7pts and 3 reb and getting turd minutes for a team that's tied with LAL in the standings Is this where we are now? Please tell me you're trolling Lol
Magic wanted his assets playing. Deng, with that contract, was not an asset. That's really all there is to that.
