So Toronto reportedly complained multiple times to Silver that the Clippers were tampering with Kawhi. And with that said, since the ABA/NBA merger there had never been a 20-0 run during a Finals game until that end of the 2nd/3rd quarter debacle by Toronto the other night. They seem to be worrying about the wrong things. Having maybe the worst 3rd quarter in NBA Finals' history could end up having a greater impact on Kawhi's future than teams tampering, IMO. Warriors aren't even near full strength and they pulled that off. Bad look. Given that Kawhi himself is banged up again, he really should be hunting for more help this offseason. And he seemgingly sits like 10-15 games every season anyway, so definitely. Warriors are better prepared to win it all with Durant, but they're obviously still out in front of everyone in this field without him too. Don't want to say the Raptors were lucky to get past the Sixers in that Game 7, but I do feel like the Sixers would've presented a bigger challenge for the Warriors. Biggest challenge for the Warriors right now seems to be health. Now, possibly no Looney for the rest of the Finals and Klay hurt. But 3peating should be hard and it's the bay so fuck'em. I hope they lose out.
Lionel Hollins hired, joining the LAL staff as an assistant Upgrades all around on the coaching staff
LAL also reportedly in trade talks surrounding the #4 pick. Wouldn't mind a Beal/Butler backcourt with LeBron and Kuz @ the forward spots, those the 4 big minute guys. Kuz can take another step or two next season and be as good as Siakam was this year, he's younger. Re-sign Caruso. Would have to figure out the 5 spot, probably wouldn't rely on Moe to start..maybe try to sign Looney with the room exception or just give the room exception to Muscala and have he and Moe battle for starter minutes.
Horford on a short term deal wouldn't be bad either. 2 or 3 year deal for $60-90M or whatever it is. Maybe have Horford's and LeBron's contracts expire together. But only if they trade for Beal as well and truly kick shit into high gear. A defensive maven like Vogel would probably do flips for a big that can D up like Horford. If they fall short for AD, like I expect, Horford will probably get at least a look, but he has said that he wants to return to Boston
Kuz invited to USA camp Along with Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum, so far 1 of 3 guys under 24 yrs old that have a shot at a roster spot
Jets, Mets, Nets. Lol Never really even thought about NY's 2nd class teams having names that rhyme until now. Anyway, sounds like Lonzo could be a linchpin in AD talks. Makes sense. He and Zion are sort of made for one another. Guess maybe Kidd would get to develop Caruso?
Up only 8 with half the key Warriors on the bench? Toronto is doomed. I'm fine with it if it means Leonard is incentivised to join the Lakers.
WTF did Gary Payton just say on my television. He's one of my all time favorite players but he's terrible on TV. Funny sometimes but terrible
Well we got trades going down during the Finals, ladies and gentleman. And Woj says Kyrie to Nets is serious. Oh yeah and free agency begins June 30th. Right. As for the trade, Nets have basically unloaded draft picks and taken themselves out of the running for AD.
