Good to know with the rest of the farm not being nearly as good as they were last year.
Is Urias still on his scoreless inning streak?
Last I saw it was up to 22 innings or so

    That's a tough comp.
I mean our farm was ranked in the bottom 3rd every year back then, Sands/Laroche/etc. those guys really weren't all that.
The Yankees had a hell of a run with their farm in the early 90's.
Steinbrenner got suspended and couldn't fuck their farm up going for blockbusters and voila, they reeled off guy after guy and eventually fucked the world up behind homegrown guys.
    Gotta be careful about that.

yeah it's a fine balance for sure
worst would be to have held onto the scrubs and then give up the next pedro/kersh
not an easy call by any means
but for arenado you at least have to listen/consider

I follow @NolanArenadoMLB, your one-stop source for all news about Nolan Arenado.

They are throwing an extra "r" in because nobody knows how to spell his name. Because he's not a Dodger. And because there are no real rumors of him being traded.

But here's a serious question, would you rather have Arenado or Machado? What would you trade for Machado?

Oh definitely target, listen and negotiate for sure.
I'd like a blockbuster too, but within reason, the quality of the farm is just too great for irresponsibly unloading the clip IMO.
Throw some cash in these trades like they've been doing..an advantage of theirs, take back a terrible contract and eat the money, pay for a guy to play elsewhere like they did with Haren..it all adds up to value.
Gotta keep " 1 man " in it's proper perspective in baseball, roided up ARod wasted away in last place as a 1 man show with the Rangers, 1 man is only worth so much when it comes to on field production/the overall goal of winning.
Bernie/Jeter/Posada/Rivera/Pettitte, NYY just churned them out after Steinbrenner stepped back, but that was after Steinbrenner dumped guys like Jay Buhner, Willie McGee, and McGriff chasing ghosts and failing.
    A fine line for sure.

    Lol So you're saying I didn't getcha? :D

    Aaahhh touchy, touchy. Lol
I just thought they may have been rolling the R, brah.
    Chillllllll

Arenado because of Trayce and cause he's from Socal, chemistry/homegrown gives him the edge for me.
Just took a look @ Arenado's 2016 road splits aka away from Coors/the moon, let's just say they're very different from last season.
Yeah if they're smart in COL they'll finally just hold on to the great hitter that has great home/away splits, at least until he has enough and just wants outta there.
Holliday actually wanted to stay from what I remember, he was one of those guys.

Bellinger had an extra slow start this year, dealt with some health issues and what not.
But he flashed big time in the spring with the vets and obviously if you get the invite they think highly of you.
If he can just make it to September/2017 without being traded I think we'll have another to add to Corey and Joc/the everyday young core.
Don't wanna see him go...another one of the kids with MLB lineage or pedigree if you will, who's been around MLB clubhouses since a young age.

It did Preston Mattingly a lot of good.

Re. Preston, caught him playing college hoops for Lamar a year or so ago in Fresno.

You kinda "got me". I had to at least verify the news. And no, I don't really follow Nolan Arenado news on Twitter because it's irrelevant to the Dodgers.

Cool as the other side of the pillow... I think

I got you (and irish). That was just me trolling. I wasn't really looking for a response.

:smh: kike and his banana (no homo) should have been the one shipped out imo

Culberson optioned to AAA to make room for Bolsinger
    by Jack Baer | MLB.com

ANAHEIM -- The Dodgers optioned infielder Charlie Culberson to Triple-A Oklahoma City in order to make room for right-handed pitcher Mike Bolsinger, who started Wednesday's game at Angel Stadium.

Culberson had seen the majority of his usage as Corey Seager's backup at shortstop. In 15 games and seven starts with the Dodgers, he was 7-for-27 with two doubles and four RBIs. With Culberson out, Kiké Hernandez will be the team's next option behind Seager.

"It was a tough decision. The number one component was to get Mike up here," manager Dave Roberts said. "Culberson did a lot of good things for us, but that was the move that made the most sense."

Optioning a position player to make room for a pitcher will leave the Dodgers with a short bench until another move is made. Roberts' justification for the imbalance was that playing in an American League stadium with the designated hitter lowered the need for bench players.

Roberts also said the team was likely to go back to a regular bench for this weekend's series in San Diego and not carry six starters long-term, so Bolsinger's performance Wednesday could determine if it's him or Ross Stripling taken out of the rotation.

"After tonight, we'll have a little more clarity where we want to go forward," Roberts said.

Bolsinger has been on the disabled list all season after suffering an oblique strain in the later stages of Spring Training. Across two rehab starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City, he allowed two earned runs in eight innings with seven strikeouts and three walks. He was on an 80-pitch limit for Wednesday's start after reaching 63 pitches in his final rehab appearance.

Roberts said possible options in the Minor Leagues to fill the empty bench spot include Micah Johnson, Austin Barnes, and Rob Segedin. Segedin isn't on the 40-man roster, so a corresponding move would be needed. Alex Guerrero, who is on a rehab assignment with Double-A Tulsa, is also a possibility.
