One thing to take away from this compared to the rankings of the other day by Minor League Ball is that Sickels has eventual oversight at the end with his grades. He grades a lot of guys based on what he saw from them in the MWL as that is where he lives so if someone takes a jump after a first hand encounter, the grade increases slowly, or in the case of Bellinger, didn't see at all. Comparably Bellinger would be a solid A with those BA grades and Verdugo probably a B/B- if the power regresses or stagnates. He saw Verdugo do really well in the MWL for a younger guy and has continued to grade him highly as the numbers have stuck. Sickels also got to see Buehler and Sheffield first hand compared to Lux(likely MWL this year) and Barnes(Been around for a long time).
This list is a great sign for the organization that people continue to think very highly of the organization and it is great that both MiLBall and BA still like De Leon a lot.

That's the jump I expected from Bellinger, he should be Top 15 in all of baseball - which I may be shorting him.
Yeah, he had a rough time at the beginning of last season ( after pretty much showing out in Spring Training)
But Bellinger was also dealing w/some health related issues at the time.
Nobody gave Seager any slack either when he struggled right before graduating..he was going through health related stuff too during that time, had lost 15-20lbs. and just wasn't as strong.
2 years ago Bellinger was 180lbs., now 210 w/probably the ability to put on more and be just fine.
I think he'd be fine at 230lbs. ala Kris Bryant, similar guys in terms of build, tall/lean athletic frames

Just coming back around to this, that 70 power grade is such a shock, but man is it fucking sweet. 80 grade power is hardly ever seen, but that 70 mixed with his improving contact skills would make for a dynamite 2,3,4,5 with Verdugo, Seager, Belli and potentially Calhoun. That is 3 30+ HR bats and bookend by two guys who don't strike out. They seem to believe that both Belli and Verdugo could be ready this year, that may be why the FO is not really looking at doing anything in the OF as of yet.
I also really do not want to see Bellinger out in the OF longer than he has to be. Just don't need him crashing into a wall or something and fuck up his shoulder.

I think once he settles into 1B, then he will probably bulk up more. The picture of him from yesterday makes him look very lean still. One of the prospect folks, I think Callis, said he felt by midseason this year that Bellinger was going to be the #1 prospect in baseball. So that will be interesting to watch for. The injury bug with the team gets talked about a lot with the big club, but it also hurt us in the MiLB with two of our top prospects. Both De Leon and Bellinger getting hurt out the gate slowed their progression a bunch. If both stay healthy, the Dodgers are going to be very happy they held onto each of those guys.

Yeah, for where LAD is maybe going to use Bellinger out of the gate, 210-215lbs. is a good place to stay.
It was Callis or another fella, MLB.com did a piece on the hottest specs in the game earlier in the off-season and Bellinger was #1 top of the class.
Only way I'd trade Bellinger is if a superstar is coming in return..Miggy, Trout, somebody in that mold.
Miggy, I think will continue to mash as he ages, he has that Ortiz look, so I'd probably do a big Miggy/Adrian/Bellinger/Kinsler + a lot of other pieces swap if it came to it.
But other than that type of " dream trade " that isn't really likely at all, Bellinger will look good in Greinke's old 21 jersey in a few - put that jersey on hold

Not all of them, no... but hoarding guys, lesser than these and hence NOT improving the team now = failing FUCKTARDS ...unless you're down with the 29 year stroke we've been enduring while waiting for the next wave of wunderkind to arrive. Remember 5 ROY's in a row, where did that get us?

Don't get your panties twisted over these guys just yet.

If Bellinger makes the club in 2017, will it be in LF or RF? Will he come up out of necessity (injury) or will he force his way on the roster? How quickly will we see him in MLB?

The Dozier deal had two of these guys in it.. #3 and #8.. both listed as projected MLB starters that will contribute in 2017.

I didn't see anything in reports about lesser guys in the deal..

Most likely as a LF'er IMO. He has the arm strength for RF, but his D is more average on the corners, so with the other players we have, LF should be it.

Darryl Strawberry was my neighbor back when he was a wife beating Yankee. He and Eric David would drive around together in their AMG convertibles, one black, one white. Guess who had which? :D
It's about the immediate future and and being tired of an OOOOOLLLLDDDDDD story.

So some notes from the chat

    - Dustin May would be his sleeper if there wasn't a lot of people that think this kid could really be something and should be a top 10 next year. He is looking forward to Oneil Cruz the most.
    - Bellinger is the top 1B prospect in baseball and sounds like a Top 10 prospect. He is roundly praised around the game among scouts.
    - They are cautious on Buehler until he proves this season was not due to him pitching minimal innings.
    - He thinks that Calhoun is gonna figure things out at 2B, but he needs a ton of work.
    - Watch DJ Peters, another 4th rnd pick that could be special. Needs to show this year was not an outlier.
    - John Mieses could be the real deal, but he is going to have to work on his plate discipline. He fixes that and he could shoot up the list. That is a big IF.
    - Sierra has fixed some things in his approach and he could be a valuable bullpen arm if he can put it together this season.
    - Jose Miguel Fernandez will slot somewhere in the teams top 10

There was also a little side article about Edwin Rios. Just said that he is working hard on improving his game and is another one of those "good clubhouse guys" that the FO is keying in on. Most important thing for him going forward will be pitch recognition and cutting down is K rate.
