No, it is well done. Suspending your best player certainly sends the message that no one is exempt from club policy. It puts Sale in his place and at the same time lets the rest of the team know that childish behavior won't be tolerated. I applaud the Sox and give Sale a big old raspberry.

Wonder if it's better to concentrate on Miller instead or another SP and a better bat in the middle of the lineup.

Given what happened this off season, I don't think Chapman comes to us. So long it's not the Gnats, it seems okay.

Maybe there is a lower profile closer or 8th inning guy we can get

Cubs giving up their #1 prospect for Chapman? No thank you.

Yeah if that Torres + for Chapman trade goes down as the reports say.....

Boy that's way too much to give up for a rental... maybe for Andrew Miller but even that yeesh

Cubs will probably re-sign him or even extend him before then
It's still a lot to give up for a reliever, but they're trying to end a 100+yr curse, they don't have many fucks to give

At the end of that day I just don't think a reliever will add THAT much to justify giving up a #1 prospect. It'd be nice for us because we'd be able to slide everyone back an inning in their roles, but if they're able to find some other option that can be effective that might be the better way to go.

If the Cubs are gonna give up Torres for a rental and/or re-sign him for big money, what are they going to use to get Beltran et. al. like the other rumors. Are they that stocked?

Lets be honest, Cubs have a shit load of fans nationwide...and none of them are trying to hear a damn thing about Theo not going for it when they've not won a WS in over 100yrs.
Our little WS-less streak since '88 ain't shit compared to what's going on over there.
Every time the Cubs have a chance ( rare) they have to go balls to the wall and go for it.
They just spent a ton of money in free agency as well, so all in all, this does not shock me.
They probably told the Yankees " name your guy ", and after that they started looking at other guys they could steal away.
I will be shocked if Chapman isn't pitching for the Cubs next year as well.
