Sure, but unless he has another setback he'll be back before July/August, CKWG broke it down earlier, June is probably a good bet.
I'm just sayin that as long as he's ready to pitch in the post it's all good.
If they make the post and Ryu's not ready we're fucked anyway.
McCarthy...I have no fucks to give there.

What do I mean? I'm referring to a post I made yesterday, where the "experts" said basically, that the Giants are fine, since no one on the team was hitting anywhere near their capabilities, other than Angel Pagan at .350 in the 9th spot. Well, the next game, everybody is destroying the ball and hitting everything thrown up there, so it kinda makes them absolutely right, without a doubt.
    That's what I mean.
I get that there is 162 games. And that we are still in first.
And I can only hope your "destroying the Padres" quote comes true...because the "game is over" line when it was 3-0 last night sure wasn't. Maybe it was someone else who wrote it.
But I sure hope the team isn't actually taking these teams like that, because it is a big mistake to do so, always has been, and always will be...and they just aren't that good right now, to expect it. I doubt they are...as pros, I would hope they know confidence is essential to winning, and over confidence is a classic sign of weakness.

Okay, I misunderstood what you meant when referring to the experts. I thought you were talking about blowhards like Morosi who had the Giants and Dbags battling it out with no mention of the Dodgers.

Joe Girardi Would Like To Ban Shifts From Baseball

If he were the commissioner of baseball, Joe Girardi would use his power to ban shifts.

"It is an illegal defense, like basketball," the New York Yankees manager said. "Guard your man, guard your spot. If I were commissioner, they would be illegal."

The subject came up during Girardi's pregame media session on Tuesday. Nathan Eovaldi lost his no-hitter in the seventh inning Monday on a ground ball that went through the area where the shortstop traditionally plays.

The Yankees had the shift on, and the no-hitter came to an end.

"As long as it is legal, I'm going to play it," said Girardi, whose team routinely aligns untraditionally.

It is nothing like basketball. The shift is annoying, but you can't ban a certain area where fielders stand before attempting to field the ball. That's stupid.

So let's make players stand where they know the ball won't be hit? Makes sense. :smh:

I don't follow the NBA closely, but didn't they get rid of illegal defense? Or at least tone the rule way down? And isn't the NBA the only place in basketball where illegal defense actually exists? And finally, wasn't it only in place to exaggerate the superstar/showboating/flashy nature of the NBA?

What would an illegal defense rule actually accomplish for MLB? I personally wonder if it is starting to be overused. ESPECIALLY with elite pitchers, or any pitcher who is dealing for the day. But what's really the point of making them illegal? Except to make Joe Girardi's job easier and he can no longer feel bad if a shift costs one of his guys a no hitter (boo hoo). We already have instant replay so umpires no longer have to feel bad about making the wrong call, so might as well protect managers feelings too.

No matter what he looks like, it's amazing the kid Yelich is hitting .336 for a solid year. Tremendous.

    • Another Angels lefty, Andrew Heaney, hasn’t received as optimistic news as Wilson. As MLB.com’s Alden Gonzalez tweets, the team said today that Heaney’s recovery “has slowed,” and the lefty will seek an “additional opinion” on his forearm strain. The club didn’t make any further comment on his health, but it’s now been several weeks since Heaney has thrown, and the continued uncertainty surrounding his recovery (or lack thereof) is discouraging for the team and for Angels fans.

Apparently the injury curse of the Dodgers even applies to those who were with them for 24 hrs.

I wouldn't go that far. I might be inclined to agree with a rule that says the 3rd baseman can't play on wrong side of 2nd, though.
