    • ESPN: Cardinals could make this a wild summer. They held on for the win on Tuesday night, giving Adam Wainwright the win and cutting into the Cubs' division lead.

    Surprise x 2

Dodgers Hold Private Workout With Yulieski Gurriel

By Jeff Todd | June 22, 2016 at 7:51am CDT

For those wondering why Cuban free agent Yulieski Gurriel was photographed wearing a Dodgers cap at Dodger Stadium last night, it’s not because he has signed there. But Gurriel did take part in a private workout for the club, according to J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles News Group.

Agreed, keep Yasmani and add Yuly Gurriel's bat to the LF/2B/3B picture.

There must have been a really popular baby naming thing in Cuba about two decades ago with names starting with 'Y' for boys. Goddam, some stupid shit has come of it, too.
    Wtf?

Was thinking that same thing when reading the Cubano thread a few months back

some superstitious thing about the "Y" being good for their manliness or some other silly thing

With the velocity based pitching they do, it shouldn't be a surprise. Scientist just came out with a study that says nursing young pitchers by reducing the amount of breaking balls they pitch doesn't work. Fastballs can be just as damaging.

That's just another a reminder of what Clayton is...not only the greatest pitcher in a generation, not only possibly ever, he is a physical freak and nothing short of a real life superman.
Incredible. Others may be good and talented, etc., but they are mere mortals in comparison.
That's what makes iconic ballplayers, like Adrian...the ability to simply go out there every day or every turn.
    We have two.

I can't remember exact story but Vin has shared it: parents were naming their kids with names starting in Y as a rebellion against the government. I forgot the complete reasoning and logic but yeah, that's why it's common

    One article I found : http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/20...on-y-returns-to-roots-for-names/#.V2spmPRHanM
