The players love Donnie, sad to break this to some of you but he will be a manager for a long long time. He has a great staff he did the best with what he had. He made questionable decisions yes, every manager does, but I think overall he did the best he could. Kemp is a baffler. When healthy this guy is an MVP and he showed it in spurts this year. Why would anyone want to dump kemp? Please explain that one to me. Also say we do rid the scourge of kemp and Donnie who replaces them? What are the options?
Well said bro. I'm not forgetting the incredible run the Dodgers had this season full of injuries. Don has to get some credit for that and as far as his decision making, that can improve...but being a manager that can manage the players, the media, and the clubhouse as well as he did this season is a lot harder to improve upon in a manager. Kemp is not really injury prone IMO. He's had two major injuries due to running into something, a wall and a catcher. Other than that, he's had hamstring issues which most fast players get and they are more likely when you are in and out of baseball recovering from other injuries. Before the Great Wall of Colorado, he was a fucking Iron Man...and an MVP.
I would trade Kemp because I think Kemp brings back a star player. If we trade Ethier or Crawford it's a salary dump.
Uhhhhhh.......Kemp is owed $128M over the next 6 years, and given they way he has played the last 2 years (minus April 2012), he would be a salary dump too.
I agree and that's why I'd propose a Puig trade. I know it won't happen, and most Dodger fans would cry a river, but I'd surely look to trade the guy if we could get something great. I don't like the way his brain functions. He has not improved a whole lot in all his time here...and has gotten worse as a player.
Very few teams will take a guy with that much left on his contract and send quality "star" players back in return. In fact our trade with Boston last year was the exception. If we trade Kemp, Crawford or Ethier, don't expect great returns. We are dealing from a position of weakness.
Lol imagine a starting five of Kershaw, Grienke, Price, Ryu and Tanaka with Bills and Beckett in the bullpen. Meanwhile our offense still can't hit.
I'd rather imagine Kershaw, Greinke, Bills, Tanaka, Ryu with our minor league system not buttfucked. lol
