And that is how you go from a 75 win shit house team to a 88 win playoff team (Angels).

They have zero wins from 1B, 3B, DH, maybe one from C, one good reliever and 2 SP’s that should be above average and both have had arm problems recently

I know they are hated rival of sorts, but I just want to point out that the Cards trading Piscotty to the A's so he can be closer to his ailing mother is pretty cool of them.

Absolutely, and thanks for the verbalization ( in print) and for caring enough...all of you. Maybe an observation from an objective observer will help, but I doubt it.
You hit the nail on the head squarely, Devil, but any time I ever truthfully and sincerely tell him why I reacted to it as I did, he never acknowledges my explanation, just doesn't address it one iota, and usually goes right into some diagnosis of paranoia or what I shouldn't do because I' m too old..." feigning" hurt or whatever. Insulting.
I 've been through a lot of shit in my life, like we all have, and the paranoid "his bow tie is really a camera shit" was over in the 70's for me...cheap grass, maybe.
I even tried to ignore him to avoid any confrontation earlier this year, but have found out that regular posters can not use the ignore feature with mods.
He has been jumping on me for a long time...but simply won't admit it.
Sometimes I wonder if he is not an ageist, given that many posts, more frequent than mine by younger posters, are totally ignored. Can't help when I was born.
But again, thanks on several levels, Devil.
Btw, been thinking about your dag...how is the loyal fellow?

    Blue.
    I apologize.
The reason I have never banned you is because I don't want to ban you.
I am sometimes trying a little too hard to keep everyone positive. It may be me putting my preferences over those of everyone else.
I think I am a little accustomed to forcing things to be positive when they arent. And that does not really work.
That is why i have butted heads with most of the older guys here at some point.
I see a lot of negativism and it brings me down slowly over time. Then I stop coming around as much.
Dodgers were bad for too long with bad owners and bad decisions.
But things have been looking better and better, and while there have been setbacks like last years WS it is leaps and bounds better than what we had previously.

Blue, you are a vital part of this forum like all the other standards here. Whenever It seems I am coming down on you it is in the same spirit as I have done with Diablo, Cap, and others. Not because I want you gone but because I just want you to be less negative/realistic. But then once we get into it and words fly the intention goes out the window.

    • The Dodgers have talked to outfielder Joc Pederson about improving his conditioning, Zaidi said.

He doesn’t strike me as the type of fat guy who can be bothered with a stove. I picture endless microwave frozen waffles, half melted ice cream, hot pockets. You know he doesn’t eat anything actually good, all crap.

Do you see these facts as incompatible with 88? All teams have flaws. Very few have a top 5 outfield in the game (16-18 wins) and an elite middle infield.

(They definitely have two good relievers (Bedrosian and Parker), and I’d throw Bridwell in the above-average SP group.)

I have no idea what Ohtani is going to be, but it seems barring injury that the raw talent and two-way ability sets the floor at like 3.5 - 4 wins there. They obviously won’t be idle for the rest of the offseason, but I think even now they’re in a pretty strong position. I severely doubt that Houston will run away with it.

I bet you Houston wins the division by 8+ games
