    Ye of little faith.
If you only had the faith of a mustard seed...
We would be signing Bryce Harper next year.

Well, forget about Yelich. He has been traded to the Brewers. #1 prospect OF Lewis Brinson(#18 overall), #5 OF Monte Harrison(#75 Overall), #9 2B/SS Isan Diaz and RHP Jordan Yamamoto are the return.

    Rankings from BA

Brewers are said to still be in on Lorenzo Cain even after this deal according to Rosenthal. They will be making some other moves now in all likelihood.

Good job Kenley, Yu, and Clayton. None of this off season stuff should matter

Ok so IMO this means that MGT doesn't really want to give up Joc/Verdugo/Ruiz cuz any 2 of those guys plus Luz and Alvarez would be equal or better than what the Brewers gave up.

Yeah unfortunately two of those guys have choked in more than one off season, so yeah we need as much backup as possible.

Maybe it’s this fact that makes the argument we should hold on to those guys.

I’m still in the camp of trying to get SP help. We did have some epic fails on offense but I think our hitting was vastly better than our pitching in the end.

Yeah I agree with you, SP is more scary than I would like. Hill and Wood are streaky and health risks. I would love to have a solid #2 behind Kershaw and in front of Hill and Wood. The reason I wanted Yelich is because I believe MGT is not interested in adding any more pitchers, so I wanted to add another bat to hopefully off set the rickety pitching staff. I really hope they are right, cuz this inactivity is killing me!!

I think I’ve said it before here but I’m really getting the vibe that they are taking a pass this season and crossing their fingers....maybe give the young ones more playing time.

Their target maybe next year where the number of potential game changers are greater and may even bring down FA prices because supply might be more better matched by demand.

    Just a guess.

10-1 odds it was preller who hacked the account

The Padres say their social media accounts were hacked early Thursday and posts were made that suggested the team had either agreed to terms with free agent Eric Hosmer or that a deal was imminent.

"Messages that were inaccurate and unauthorized were posted," the team said in a statement. "MLB Cybersecurity is now investigating the matter, and we apologize for any confusion."

A photo of a smiling Hosmer in a Kansas City Royals uniform was posted on the Padres' Instagram account. It was deleted a few minutes later. On the Padres' Twitter account, someone posted "Stay tuned ..." followed by a bulging eyes emoji, and then posted Hosmer's Twitter handle. They also were deleted.

The Padres have offered Hosmer a seven-year deal.

Brewers Agree To Terms With Lorenzo Cain

By Jeff Todd | January 25, 2018 at 6:26pm CDT

In a stunning turn, the Brewers have agreed to a deal with free agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (via Twitter). It’s a five-year, $80MM deal, according to ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick (Twitter links), which includes no-trade protection. (The clause will initially grant full trade protection and become more limited over time.)
