we really went from Verdugo, Downs, Ruiz to Verdugo and Maeda, get Price and Betts, and only pay Price 3/45$ (which seems fair for him even on an open market). Unreal!

Still doesn't make sense. Are we going to send Kike over every week to give Trout a hummer too?

Stripling been super super valuable as a flexible starter/reliever for us. Sucks for us. Cool for him though, as he’ll get a chance to be a full time starter. Do kinda wonder if he and Dodgers thought it was a good time to stop dicking around with Maeda and Ross

price was not a >$30m/year pitcher
but with the chowds paying half, i’m kinda excited to see what this $16m/year guy can do with a change of scenery
prediction: he’ll be better than maeda this year

Hopefully, them there Dodgers better have some fried chicken and collard greens in the clubhouse when Price gets the start...

We have an over abundance of prospects, so we make a trade for Betts, and when the dust settles we will have all of our prospects in tact plus 2 more?

My only beefs with the front office:

    1) 2015. When Ryu went down during spring training, they had six months to find a number 3 starter. Instead, Brett Anderson started game 3 of the nlds.

    2) McCarthy, Kazmir, Pollock, Kelly type FA.

Everything else is pretty much A+ stuff.

My ire is usually for ownership.

Makes me more convinced that something else is going to happen. Even though I would rather have lindor or arenado, I think Bryant would be apretty seamless addition and would likely cost less.

I fully expect these two prospects to be Top 100 guys within 6 months. No idea who they are, but my expectations are preset.

Almost every time I think of a lineup in my head, I get to the end and think, "Holy shit..we have Max Muncy too"
And he should be hitting somewhere 2 through 4

When the deal was unfolding and there was a clusterfuck of info all at once, a couple guys said May was going in the trade. I think the tweets have been deleted, or I just lost who it was at this point. Nobody had said since that May was going, but after a while when they would not say who the Dodgers traded, I got worried that those guys had their signals crossed and had him going to the wrong team. I’ve seen it happen in other multi-team scenarios, so I was getting nervous. It would make absolutely no sense, which is why I was confused at the same time.

ZiPS likes Rengifo, has him as a 2.4-2.6 WAR guy in his prime in ~450 AB’s

lol, ZiPS also has him as the most valuable player in the deal. Really starting to wonder if Kikè is on his way out next.

I bet they see Beaty and Rengifo as the next version of Taylor and Kiké

so now the angels are "working" to acquire Joc?
couldn't we have sent him and strip to someone else besides the "LA" angels?

That AL West is gonna be a bloodbath and neither Strip or Joc is putting the Angels over the top. Depending on what they’re getting back, it was probably their best option, but the more I read about Rengifo, the more I think the Dodgers may have gotten a solid deal.
