Got a roommate question for you bros: I'm naturally a night person. I stay up late and wake up late. Even if I get the same amount of sleep, I feel much more rejuvenated by waking up later. I obviously watch tv/play games/etc at night. One of my roommates says that my volume is "too loud" because of his "sensitive ears" (even then, I keep my volume relatively low since I can barely even hear it in my room). I told him he should just buy ear plugs, but he claims that they "hurt his ears". Any way to get around this? I sometimes skype with friends back on the WC, so the volume of my talking would be louder than the volume coming from my speakers anyway (assuming I were to purchase a set of headphones). I also ritualistically watch TV before I go to bed everynight. I understand the whole accommodating people's sleep schedules thing, but my volume is already low. If he's got sensitive ears, I feel like it's not my problem. My other roommate's room is closer (right across from mine) and he can never hear my stuff.
depends on what part of the LA area you are talking about. if you mean downtown its probably less than an hour. if you are talking lair its more like an hour and 15. its a big area. but if you are going to be in town you better let us know so we can arrange a lair event and come get you. :lair:
devil's right i used to drive out there from pasadena, pretty much the outskirts of la took about 45 minutes to an hour to get there as i recall and yeah, what up with the surreptitious attempt to sneak into town? are you secretly interviewing for ned or dbb's jobs? hopefully both
tbh shaw, i think maybe you should be the one investing in earphones i've bartended many years of my life and often had to make adjustments to accommodate roomies even now, i'm still pretty nocturnal but the gf is a pilates instructor so she's always up at around 5am, hence asleep early so if i'm watching tv, playing games, et al, i plug in the earphones/headphones so i don't disrupt her you have to remember we're the ones with the odd/non-standard hours so hard for us vampires having to placate society

Nah, if I ever do get out there, I would love to meet the group and see who I have been agreeing/warring with all these years, believe me. It's got to do with an airplane museum that I found out about that is located in Chino. Fordie probably knows it.
