    I'm having surgery on Monday and will be recovering for like a month before I get back to work.
    It gives me plenty of time to look for jobs and be here on DSP.

    Hopefully this surgeon wont be getting a seizure in the middle of the operation or else ill be back to singing soprano like i did as a kid.

    I did that for a few years :D
    Then sometime last year i realized it was not the best course of action.
    Well it was for a time. It relieved a lot of inflammation and pain as well as allowed me to work on other medical issues.
    Problem was that i never completely rested enough due to the remedy working too well and me feeling like I could do stuff again.
    So i would injure myself frequently.. I even played some 3 on 3 basketball whenever i was feeling extra spry... bad idea.
    I was able to lose a ton of weight though and get rid of diabetes, bring down my cholesterol significantly, blood pressure, etc... Still have tachycardia issues that came back once i stopped self medicating... but they gave me a pill for that and its helping.
    This time last year i was 170 lbs because it was hard to eat/shit/piss with the hernia strangulating me.
    Oh and coughing is murder on a hernia. If you smoke you gonna cough frequently, no ways around it. And you gonna cough when you are in bed/sitting or another bad position that will tweak your hernia.
    Im 230 lbs now after the past year working 13 hour shifts in front of a computer and video game machines working on the Adventure Time and Kung Fu Panda games. The most enjoyable parts of my work day were lunch time going to eat at all the new styled fast food places that have propped up the past few years. I love Japanese curry now. The last month at work i finally got sucked into playing Magic: The Gathering with the other nerds. Damnit its actually really fun. Then again i havent played video games in like a 7 years so a card based game is probably more my speed now.
    The only exercise i got in the past year has been ultimate frisbee for a few months (was tweaking my hernia a bit) and after hours bouts of resident evil and counter strike using nerf guns in the office corridors once most of the other offices cleared out.
    The security guard lady and the cleaning crew were NPC's that sometimes got shot in the back if they werent paying attention. But if they gave you clues as to where the other guys were they would be safe.

    how did you do that, specifically your cholesterol and bp?
    mine are both high and the meds they give me fuck me up worse than they help

    they make me feel weak and out of it

    I would post about the stuff i was doing a few years back.
    If you really wish to get off the meds cycle and try to heal issues other than just treating them there are ways.
    But its not easy, it involves a lot of self sacrifice in terms of what you like to eat. Food becomes medicine you take daily as if it was pills instead of things you put in your mouth because it feels/tastes good.
    Good news is that after 2 to 4 weeks your brain gets rewired and you no longer crave hamburgers and pizza but papaya and pineapple.
    It helps eating off the tree. I have some trees that grow something similar to a sugar apple/cherimoya that has a potent medicine that helps with a lot of stuff. I was eating bags of these every week.
    But first there is fasting involved. Letting old cells and pathways die so new ones can be born without the bad programming.
    The idea is similar to how stem cells work as a template that takes new young cells and programs them to turn into whatever is needed.
    The difference is that in this process you must first throw down your body, induce catabolism so your body starts essentially tearing itself down.
    Once it destroys enough unhealthy cells with bad programming you go on a cell building diet of super foods in order to program those new young cells to desire whats good for them instead of whats bad.
    Our taste buds dont really mandate what we eat, thats a myth. Our cells do. The cells tell your brain what it craves and you get the positive reinforcement when your taste buds get what your cells are telling your brain that it wants.
    An by brain i mean your gut. Another myth is that we have more nerve endings in our penis than anywhere else but our brain. Our gut has so many nerves and nerve endings that it works as a secondary brain. In fact its not our secondary but our primary brain. Its why people since the dawn of time refer to their 'gut' instinct. Our intestines are what is sometimes referred to as our reptilian brain by new agers and some psychologists. Its a long ass snake and it controls our desires, lusts, instincts. That includes what we like to eat, what we are like sexually, and ultimately our character.
    Cleaning out corrupted cells in your gut helps in a lot of ways, not just your physical health but emotional health too.
    The truth of the sex/instinct thing is that our sexual organs and our intestines are the same in terms of symbolic/philosophic meaning.
    As is the words loins/side/basic instinct, etc...
    Humans from the dawn of time are supposed to be snake charmers.
    We are supposed to be able to use our minds to control our snake which is our lower regions. Which is to say our instinct/sexuality/appetites.
    Its not easy. It takes both the mind and the heart to work together in order to tame the snake.
    Your brain is like a cloud. When our brain is clouded we seem foggy :D
    When its clear (and cleaning out your gut helps clarity) we operate better.
    The heart is our system of life. Which is the pineal gland and all the other glands/organs/fluids/gases in our body but not as much in the literal physical level but in what these bodily systems represent. The liver for instance can be seen as a book of life. Both the words life and book translate easily from the word liver. And everything that happens to you is recorded chemically and sometimes physically in your liver. Its also regenerative like nothing else is.
    Its our life force, its our breath, its our lymph and our blood. Its the energy in your heart that powers you electronically, its the heat generated, etc... Its all things that generate energy/life.
    Asians would call it Qi/Chi. We might call it spirit, or we might call it love.
    Now dont get me wrong, its also way more than this. But these are the things that you look at physically to help you spiritually with your heart if you feel that your heart is not in the right place. Ultimately its a psychological thing. Im just giving you some of the classic explanations of our heart/body/mind and how they relate to the parts of the body. When you are trying to heal yourself holistically you need to take the whole into consideration from the start or else you have a much harder time figuring out what you are doing and reading the signs your body gives you.

    Step 1 is fast.
    Step 2 is working on your gut both physically and philosophically.
    Step 3 is working on your liver system which includes gallbladder and others.
    Step 4 is working on your blood system which includes the kidneys.
    This is done through the proper application of foods and herbs, cold and hot compresses, cleanses, and lots of water, fresh air, sunlight, and walking.
    The sun is always maligned as being really bad for you and cancerous. That like most things is a false truth. In that it is true but only because we arent doing it right.
    If you put junk in your body then the radiation from the sun will cause you to develop certain diseases like cancer more rapidly.
    The sun is like a light shining on the death that is already living within you. It wants to kill that death, unfortunately if you have too much death already inside then the sun views you as a whole as death and starts giving you cancer. Not that the sun thinks like a person but its what the radiation does.
    Whereas if a person eats healthy while also getting tons of sun exposure then the suns radiation targets the radicals of death in your body and zaps them away. Its why you can see so many beach people who eat healthy, gets lots of fresh air, and are always in the blazing sun getting nice and tan yet dont develop as much cancer as office workers who get some sun here and there.
    Its also why people in north africa living in deserts dont have as much skin or other cancers, or immigrant day laborers. They are in the sun and they generally eat a diet that has a lot less oxidizers and a lot less synthetic ingredients.

    At this point i just take one pill, Propanolol. My heart rate is 140 without it. Now its down to 90. But i dont take a high dose like my doctor wants me to in order to get the pulse lower. Once i have the surgery im going to cleanse up again and ready my body for my coming ability to work out again for the first time in like a decade. I have had heart rate issues all my life so im not as scared as the doctor is, i believe smoking a little weed and working out will allow me to get off the propanolol.
    I was on 5 different meds for a month just to make the doc happy, but i got off the other 4 to show her i could do without them.
    You can do it Irish.... but you have to probably give up the alcohol for a bit. And then you may not have a craving/need for alcohol in the future. Its an unfortunate side effect :D

    how long do i fast?
    and how exactly does one work on their liver system, gallbladder, blood system and kidneys?
    i haven't drank alcohol for several months so that part is already resolved...

    I made the mistake of leaving my medicine in a backpack at work so i missed a dose and had to take them the next morning while at work.
    Huge mistake. The combination of pills turned me into a sack of potatoes who could not keep from shutting my eyes. Could do no work and the team lead sent me home to sleep. I drove to a secluded place and took a nap in my van. It helps to drive a van.
    Yes its a white van Irish... cue jokes!

    Stop eating animal products and processed foods, or at least greatly reduce them. Definitely easier in theory than in practice, but it's where you should start.

    I admit to being openly liberal, nay, even Democratic. And as such, yes I am biased. What do I dislike about them? Let me think...

    Trump so far has managed to alienate Hispanics, blacks, and even his own party. One would think that these would be the people he would be trying to win over.

    It seems that every time Jeb Bush opens his mouth he's cramming his foot in it.

    Ben Carson trumps (<what I did there, do you see it?) Jeb Bush at saying stupid shit.

    Rubio might be viable, if stops making up 'facts' and denying science.

    I really don't want to play this game cause no one is untarnished, but most the GOP's have been busy making asses of themselves. All I said was Hilary is better than they are. You are free to feel differently.

    If you want specifics i can help you out as you go along. But i got to go right now. Got to see a man about a heart monitor :D
    Fast is just as long as you can handle it. The longer the better.
    If you can only do a day or two thats fine too. As long as you do a few more as a juice and tea fast.
    If you can give yourself a week or two of no solid foods but gradually moving on from juices/teas to light broths and certain raw fruits and veggies then you will be in a great position to start things.
    Then the diet starts after the fasting.
    Essentially its not eating any animal fat or even processed oils like olive oil (you want to burn your fat as a lot of chemicals are stored in your fat layers). Not eating any simple carbs or processed carbs like wheats. The first solid carb you can eat will be potato and yams.
    No dairy as you need to rid your body of mucus and dairy creates mucus. Disease love to eat mucus to grow in your body.
    No meats. Nothing that turns acidic in your body. Lots of acidity foods are ok like lemons, its not the acid in your mouth but in your blood.

    Thats not exhaustive but its a great start with what you can and cannot eat on these type of cleanses.
    You get a ton of minerals and vitamins from a lot of simple foods out there. I eat stuff out of my backyard, weeds and shrubs.
    There is strong medicine everywhere. Its better to eat dandilions than spinach. Burdock root is better than carrots.
    Then once you want to eat some carbs throw in pseudo cerals like amaranth and millet. They taste good too.
    Shop at asian supermarkets and find most of what you need there and save money compared to what you buy from regular markets.
    Do this for a few months as well as some colon cleanses, blood purifications, and you wont need the meds.

    Ill be here to help you along whenever you need it. I have first hand experience as well as a bunch of books by wholistic naturalists as well as medical scientists. I beat the diabetes with the help of a book called The Metabolic Syndrome. Im not sure if thats the entire title, i will look for it so you can buy it online if you wish. Its purely scientific without any of my kind of chewy granola feeling you holistic/naturopath stuff.
    I know some folks get turned off by that kind of stuff, they just want the cold hard facts. I used to be one of those. I had to get into it through the science before i could trust the holistic stuff. I used to think it was quackery. Although a lot of it is quackery because there is always people trying to make a buck on folks in need.
