He has personality problems. He is confused by having more than one. You can only serve one master. If not you will be so confused you wont be able to bring yourself to believe even what your are intellectually already enlightened to. There is not much that can be done for someone such as this. Like the rich man who was rich not just in gold but in knowledge yet couldnt leave either of them for what is given for free.
Pretty judgmental of you to assume to know so much about this guy's psyche & soul when you know less than zero about him in the big picture. Fact is, he's become a public figure & his faith journey became public. I admire him and many others who've struggled with their faith do as well. Worst of all, you claim there's "not much that can be done for someone such as this" .... No one on this board or anywhere can ever say or write that about someone else. You need to look in the mirror, man. Seriously. Me as well. But on this one .... You need to look harder.
Cope harder. I dont judge him he judged himself. Ive watched hundreds of hours of his lectures. Before fame became a drug. Judgement day is coming. For everyone. Hang in there. All idols are flase. Your fathers idol was gay and died of aids. I broke it to him too. Ill break it to you. All idols are false. And they coming down hard.
I grew up in a weird religion with a hard on for idols. There is two ways to look at it. The left way = admired hero/star The right way = likeness of god/a deity. Thr right way is right, the left is wrong. But being right is not correct in this instance. Its not wrong but its bad form for a human. Its debasing. While the left is wrong it rarely causes something too severe. Usually just a weird transfixed disappointment we put on someone we dont even know personally. Of course when it does go way left it goes way wrong and you end up with nutjob fans. The correct way is no to all the above. Respecting everyone equally is the only equality you will ever have in your own control. The moment we start to respect idols of any kind we make it unfair for the rest of us who cant compete. And it skews the bell curve on respect. I respect the inner child inside every person. But i dont respect anyone for anything other than that. And for being a child. An elder. And a mother. And sick. And poorer than me. Anybody else has to show me their lightning bolt.
Paulie was showing his age a year ago. He was on the Talking Sopranos podcast and was not cogent more than a few times. Good actor. Sad to see him go.
Got a message from a friend I haven't talked to in a while...as follows: "They got Sonny on the causeway". Click.
He deserves it for whiff1ing badly on that beat down on Carlo earlier... go to 0:25 seconds on the clip... that right cross missed by a foot at least....
Finished The Dichotomy of Leadership from the same people who wrote Extreme Ownership. Both great reads. I thoroughly enjoyed both books - best part was reading about their operations. Chris Kyle was in their platoon in Ramidi - bought a hardcover copy of American Sniper immediately after finishing this one.
