Clarkson got a good amount of run at 2 guard this year and that was with Lin at the point. if the Lakers commit to multi-year deals with Rondo or Westbrook, a couple big minute PGs who handle the ball a lot, best believe Clarkson will continue to get minutes at 2 guard going forward.

If the Lakers sign Rondo, they're complete fucking idiots.

Clarkson doesn't shoot well enough to play the 2 realistically unless we can surround him with shooters. Although I have thought about the possibility of drafting either Mudiay or Russell and playing a 3 guard lineup. You could put Russell at the 2 and keep Clarkson at the 1, even though I want Mudiay more.

Lillard's shot vs Houston last year got him overrated as fuck....I've seen countless Portland games this year and he's not that special. Terribly defensively...I mean, team's backup PGs are going off on him and he settles for way too many 3s. Blazers season ended when Matthews went down

Only first round series I care to watch is Spurs-Clippers to be honest....the rest aren't that interesting.

agreed. and maybe they won't..that was just Jalen Rose talking yesterday about what he thinks is gonna happen. Jalen is pretty close to Kobe, though. i mean they're good friends or whatever and Kobe of course has been recruiting Rondo and maybe he knows something, but yeah..i'd rather not sign Rondo.

Clarkson actually shot better when playing the 2 guard position. yeah, there is a stat that keeps up with that. he's also just beginning his career, so don't rule out him becoming a better shooter in general. and there are worse shooting 2 guards in the league as well..trust.

yeah, losing Matthews was a tough break. McCollum is talented, but not really tested. Afflalo is good, but he was brought in for depth. i don't think they were winning anything anyway, but yeah. it'll be interesting to see what Aldridge does this summer..he's turning 30.

So if the Blazers lose in the first round, why wouldn't Aldridge be open to leaving Portland?

he might. a 1yr deal could be the best way for him to maximize his money while also getting to a better winning situation. after his 10th season ( next season) he becomes eligible for more money based on CBA rules, so at the end of the day he could go from signing for 109M this summer to making 145M over the next period of his career ( likely his last big payday being that he's about to turn 30) if he waits. and him being open to a 1yr deal would open it up for a lot of teams with space to get in because Portland's advantage becomes nullified.

he might age gracefully since he's a skilled player, but whoever gives him a long term deal has to stare down the barrel of giving a 30yr old big man a long deal as well. Portland's not really going anywhere, though.

Aldridge is crazy value as a 4 that can play the 5, defend, rebound, hit free throws, though

he's never been much of a shooter, I suppose he can get better, but he's better suited at the 1.

he's better suited at the 1 due in part to his size advantage over opposing PGs, but still, if the Lakers spend big loot on a big minute PG you're gonna see Clarkson get some more run at SG and he can do that. i really didn't think about it the other day, but Clarkson himself may get dealt this summer..he's an asset right now. i mean Clarkson is talented, but not talented enough to say that you'd pass on the opportunity to add a ball-handler like Westbrook this summer or perhaps Mike Conley in 2016.

the Lakers don't have the setting to just sit back and build through the draft because of their TV contract with TWC..they have to go big, build excitement, put asses in seats, eyeballs on the screen, and make good on that deal. so, imo, they will be going all out to add the best of who's available there this summer and next. i know a good amount of fans want them to build through the draft and do what some other sucky teams are doing, but they really can't..literally. even if they wanted to they couldn't because they're still giving up future picks from the Dwight and Nash trades.

i expect the Lakers to try to deal the Top 5 pick ( if they get it) and probably package it with the #27 overall pick and maybe even the #34 pick as well. even if the Top 5 pick turns out to be the #1 overall pick, i expect them to try to deal it. now, if there were a LeBron or Durant in this draft they'd likely keep the pick, but there is no freak/superstar that's gonna change the game or come right in and be a Top 10-15 player in the league in this draft. they'll probably be willing to move Randle and Clarkson as well and Young and Hill have already been on the trade block, so that's a given.

Yeah, definitely. They made a bad offside call too that would have tied it up at the 88th minute. Lovren was horrible, I think LFC would have won if Sakho was healthy and ready to go.
