Yeah, it was enough to fill my eyes with tears. not an overall indictment for those who love football, just for me. I played and took my hits, and gave as good as I got. But to witness this intelligent guy with a loving family, with a nimble, creatively functioning mind until only recently, struggling to make himself understood, then to realize it is being sapped every day from him, was simply overwheming. For me anyway.
I know people whose lives were ruined by football and have had to claw through the pain of living with chronic health issue for no good reason other than adults not giving a fuck about kids destroying themselves over the funtimes and revenues made by high school football.
Trent DilferVerified account@DilfersDimes I loved the Gruden & @derekcarrqb heated exchange & them rallying to win after. Shows they have a strong relationship & can handle healthy conflict. Love more that people who don’t understand competitive fire & healthy conflict freaked out on Twitter #NoConflictNoGrowth @Raiders OK, but is that worth the #1 overall draft pick? We shall see because unless they're truly taking McKenzie's draft power away.... Steve CorkranVerified account@CorkOnTheNFL GM Reggie McKenzie selected DE Jihad Ward three picks before @Saints drafted WR Michael Thomas in 2016, and he snared S Obi Melifonwu 11 picks before @Saints took RB Alvin Kamara in '17.
Seriously. I was at that game last night in Phoenix and was pissed that they won. Guys around me we’re all excited and shit...
Sheer stupidity, but when you go to a game you definitely don't expect to see RAIDER fans at the game bummed out because of a win. Feels like most of the fans that are hoping for losses and better draft position are the fans that'd just stay home. But of course, if a NFL game is happening, it's sort of a place to be..pretty live event, even for shitty football. It's a weird situation to be in..but they should've just lost that fucking game and that's that. Even if they had no plans to make that pick, you can trade back and get more picks, especially in a year where there's only one Top 5 worthy QB
Agreed. We bought the tickets and planned the trip months ago before the season started. Who would have thought they would be this shitty. We basically stayed in the parking lot for the first half getting shitty drunk before going in. Cool stadium though. But crap beer
Lol Sounds like you made the most of it. That's about all you can do this year. You gonna be making any trips to Vegas to catch them in the future? That stadium looks insane, the retractable wall that opens and reveals the Vegas strip is just damn awesome, flat out awesome
Who can play any defense in today's game? I mean consistently, both game to game and season to season..look at the Jags and Vikings this year, Philly as well. NFL football is damn close to NCAA football at this point, too close. Yesterday a starting QB for the Ravens had 27 carries. The day is coming where the top defensive players in the league are going to see their market reset because the rules changes are just making it impossible so why pay that much? Offensive players are going to be paid handsomely..that's already started, really..Sammy Watkins, etc. Bears are claiming to be the top defense in the league right now..in a down year for the Patriots' offense they dropped 40 on the Bears.
Regardless of macro level changes in the rules, you can’t let a team score a touchdown in around 1 minute and then expect to be a contender. That was some awful defense.
On one hand, I hate the way the pro game has moved toward a collegiate style of play. On the other hand, now that the NFL is basically NCAA 2.0, these kids in the draft are closer to being ready to play immediately, especially the 1st round talents
Should be an experience. Have family in the fight game, he wants a box and I'm rooting for him. Should be interesting, waiting to find out where they'll play next year since Oakland is being shitty about the L they're taking. That city never deserved a marquee franchise..why the Warriors are leaving for San Fran too. Athletics..nobody cares. Santa Clara may be calling the RAIDERS for a season
Rams should always heave a greatest show on earth mentality to their playstyle. They are Rams and that animal charges ahead full speed and power. That is also their heritage with big playmakers and high scoring offenses. The football version of showtime Lakers. Perfect timing with the NFL making defense a penalty.
Don't blame you. He clanked away what should have been the game ending INT. As a Ram fan I'm not complaining, though.
