6Y 70MM, how much of that would he actually get? 36MM? Assumming 36MM is somewhat accurate, the contract is for 6MM a year to relocate and live in Lost Angeles. I'd pass of that all day long if I was Hurley.
The problem is that if you're in a major market like Los Angeles, you (teams like Lakers and Dodgers) are expected to sign star power. (This is why the McCourt years were such an anomaly - he couldn't afford the best). If you sign the biggest names, it takes care of one problem... getting butts in the seats, selling merch, TV contracts, etc. But if you sign the wrong "star", you're sabotaging the teams chances of multiple championships. The Lakers were somehow able to keep it together for the one championship early in Lebron's tenure with the team, but haven't got close since and unlikely to again while he's on the team. Makes one wonder how they would've done with two or three lesser stars instead. But then again, I don't follow basketball at all anymore, so this take may be way off.
wait until he wants mini mebron to get more minutess cause its what he wants Lakers had a great nucleus of players until we started shipping them off for what the queen wanted
Not a hockey fan at all nor an Edmonton fan either ... but this gal has my respect. Eff em if they don't like it. https://x.com/worldhockeyrpt/status/1802794864612135411?t=eefI6Ua0r3KXsVAe6YVzog&s=19
Who's got early money on Olivier Rioux? 7'9'' ... and just 18 ... The kid could just be another fragile stilt or perhaps the next Wilt. I DGAF about the NBA anymore but it'll be funny to see black NCAA players try to snap this kid's knees on purpose, and later (if he makes the pros) see pros try even more overt attempts to maim him. Regardless, because he's white, it'll be OK.
I recall Stackhouse trying multiple times to land broadside across Bradley's knee. Obvious as hell... Didn't matter. Guy is paralyzed now from a bicycling accident. Imagine being 7+ feet tall & wheelchair bound...
going to have to watch some of the game 7 Stanley cup don't think it will be in doubt for very long though Florida has to have some tight sphincters atm
Would be hilarious, and awesome, if LeBron James Jr. actually turned out to be a good NBA player. He would be more of a Laker than his dad ever was.
didn't even notice draft results and they took mebron jr in the second round?! read an article that gave the Lakers an A on draft day how does that work when you drafted a minimal talent subpar role player in the second round when NO ONE else wanted him??? just more damage done to the team by me first, look at me, i'm the goat mebron
