obviously no one is happy about the unavailability of buehler, may, gonsolin and julio but at least our young guys (bobby, emmet, grove and stone) got some work during the season kersh, lance and bobby are probably our top three, with pepiot not far behind but the others — particularly emmet — have to at least give a glimmer of hope as we all know, you don’t need to be the best team come october… you just need to get hot at the right time and if our pitchers were to all get hot at the same time, imo we’re capable of beating anyone of course, we’re also capable of shatting the bed and not getting out of the LDS…
I was actually thinking of posting something similar. But to be fair, while I’m excited about the possibility of Bobby, Sheehan and Pepiot stepping up, I’m equally apprehensive about Kersh’s health and Lynn’s habit of giving up bombs.
I'm definitely excited to see the young guys on the big stage. Much better outcome for the team this year and the future of the team to have guys like Miller/Pepiot starting instead of Gonsolin and Urias. Last year taught me not to root to face a particular opponent in round 1. I thought we dodged a bullet when the Padres took out the Mets with their 1-2 punch of deGrom-Scherzer and Diaz closing. As of today, we'd face the winner of Milwaukee-Miami. Outside of Philadelphia, Miami is probably the potential opponent that scares me the most but who the hell knows...
Great post. Despite their occasional flashes of brilliance, I’ve never been that impressed with either Gonsolin or Urias. I’d much rather see Bobby, Pepiot or Sheehan on the bump.
i think the kids see the hurdles in front of them and the group of vets around them is going to push them next level this is the future and what a way for it to come around even if the team doesn't reach the promise land i like how the rotation looks now better than same time last year kind of like the team was forced to give guys their shot and start fresh
The dude publicly likes cats and has made them part of his persona. How do you expect to intimidate opposing hitters with that? Just speculation here, but I think the mistake with Julio was that the Dodgers built him up too much with regards to his being the face of the team within the Mexican-American community, and it got to his head. I mean, they heralded his ethnicity more than anyone since Fernando, and unlike him, his ego got the better of him. I'm completely on board with appreciating and celebrating different heritages, but I feel they went over the top.
Kershaw, Bobby (at what age does he become Bob?) and Pepiot. If Launchalot is used it should be a short leash. I'd prefer a pen game to a Lynn launchfest.
Ask Gerald Posey. I'll admit - I admired his game but he was a gnattie. So fuck him. And fuck his gay name. Buster? Who keeps that nickname after he turns eight?
eh idk cats aren't my thing but they can be pretty cool akitas are very cat like and i like that part i don't really think Gonzo is soft as much as his stuff has limitations we don't talk about May much and it sure seems like he's power only and broken all the time Ferris is on his second TJ so who knows what to expect and CK has maybe one more year in him? i think Miller is a lock w Pepiot and Sheehan looking strong wouldn't undersell Stone or Grove either w all of them up or in the mix right now its definitely exciting and the comradery must be driving everyone if only we can hope dave stays out of the way and lets them pitch some rocky outings to push the curve do us no harm atm anyway
Yeah, you would think so. But really, he'll get the W, and it'll be a quality start by today's standards. No way, with this staff he's not on the roster...I'd bet a C-note $5.00 on it...that's how sure I am. High roller.
