Lets keep it real, he's the best 2B in the game. However he will be what 31? He will also be looking for a big FU type payday given that the legendary agent Jay-Z has signed him on. My only problem with signing him would be years.

he will be horseshit at the end of his contract, but is there any other 2B out there worth it? Phillips isn't going to be a FA.

So after my longwinded nonsense, yes I would sign him to no more than 5 years.

 

Matt Carpenter has been the best 2B in the game this year. I doubt Cano is the best 2b in any year moving forward.

Agreed but I think that going forward him being the best is history. I'm not saying he won't be top 5 2B anymore from this year on but I don't think he will be the best.

 

What are his splits like? Because Yankee Stadium is bound to increase a left handers power numbers one would think. That shit won't fly in the west, literally.

 

Cano has actually been far better on the road than at SpankMe stadium. OPSing about .150 more on the road. At Home Cano has a sub .800 OPS and on the road has a OPS north of .900

 

I'd be more concerned about 2 bigger things...pitch selection and bat speed.
Obviously Hamilton is in a class of his own and might be an insult to Cano, but you gotta look at the increase/decrease of swings at balls in/out of the strike zone.
We don't want anything like what's going on in Analheim.
Again, Hamilton is an extreme, individual case but the demise of most players is expanding the strike zone and losing bat speed. We know the latter will happen inevitably.

He's saying everyone in the game is on PEDs, particularly Dodgers. If that is why you don't want Cano, then you shouldn't want anyone because they all use.

 

I think what he is saying he is saying is if steer clear of all suspicious players, you'll end up with a lineup of players like Mark Ellis.
