well, i'll put it like this..he can't work through his timing issues from the bench. he can get better physically, but then he'll be tryin to get settled at the plate anyway after he returns and that might drag into the playoffs and that's a no-no. he should've been sittin a long time ago and guys would've have to just step up their damn games ( like they're doing now)

Are we waiting for a big headline in the LA Times sport section that reads "Puig has been injured for over a month and has bravely been playing through it"? Exclusive.
And then an in depth interview with the skipper on why he's been in there anyway, pretty much all of the time...and how not improving one iota is the "smart BB thing to do"? With that guy Pederson in the dugout for almost 2weeks that everyone was screaming for to be up in the Show all season long?
    Secrets...shhh.

as far as i go, i've never been that down on CC..in my mind he's a .280 hitter now..at his best he can probably turn a .333 OBP with occasional pop. obviously not worth all that money, but he's kind of an " Uribe with speed "..that's how far he's fallen, but he's still a useful player and he's usually nails in August/September/October. he's just a talented athlete..he was a key player for us in the playoffs last year. they used to call him " Perfect Storm " in Tampa and even though he's older now we've seen him do a little bit of everything. hit for power in the playoffs and he can unload and hit a long way occasionally..his caught stealing rate is extra low this year as well. the one thing most people seemed to be down on him for was his arm and it's definitely a noodle. Lol but he certainly can cover ground and make tough plays defensively in left..i just can't come up with any reason to start SVS over him when he's playing well. not one. we have pitching to consider and he hits lefties. he should play when he's going this well..before he turns back into the " Perfect Bum " Lol

Haren..i had high hopes for him because i thought his stuff fit our staff ( pause), but the way he was going for a while had me lookin for Kasten/Colletti to make a real impact move to get a #4 after Beckett went down. but thank God he's turned it around..maybe Haren's gonna be a big game type for us and get a shot at a spot start if we make the playoffs. he was so bad for a while it made me forget how solid he was to start the year. this development doesn't make it OK to have settled on Fausto and Corriea ( or miss out on Andrew Miller), but maybe they were thinking that Haren could turn it around.

If September and, heaven forbid October, come down to how well Haren pitches then we've done something terribly wrong... long long ago.

As far as his performing to the skill set of a #4 or #5 well he's done that well enough. And since we never hired him as a #1, #2 or #3 then I'm OK with his periodic miscues... because every once in a while he plays up... no doubt inspired by watching Clayton school one team or another

    no not in the least.

I'm good with Haren being a 4 or 5, especially at this stage in his career, my point is that 'once in a while' he can still toss gems

I've watched him be erratic over the years but 'once in a while' he'll throw a 3 hitter or something and you're like... damn..that'll get it done son...
