First 4 Dodger batters were a collective 0 for 20...

before talking how many stupid errors?

Hanley was punished for his hit and removed for baseball reasons per DBB

who churned through 8 pitchers, two of them for a single out

as usual there is plenty of shame to go around...

... yeah ... right... its not like they're going to come out tomorrow fired up or something

    not this team

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely get why Hanley is removed because of his terrible defense, but you have to make sure we're going to win the game when you do that IMO. I'm not going to be watching a playoff game where we sit there and hope that Miguel Rojas or Darwin Barney can get the huge hit off some guy throwing 96+ again.

Probably said the same thing the other weekend after we lost the first game?

How many games has Ned's gem cost us already this year? Three? There was a reason this guy was considered one of the worst SP's in the league.

I'm glad Dan Haren got to where he needed to for his 10, 000, 000 dollars. Good. Too bad it's not 100,000,000 M.
He went out there and pitched a better game than anyone on the staff in 8 games, and got nothing for it, but did it nevertheless. From one of your worst critics, congratulations, Dan. Good heart.
Nothing to say about anything else; it's the same old story with the same old participants and the same old nasty useless players gotten by the same old like GM.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I'd betcha DBB has tonight's game lost already.

one thing's for sure when it comes to Mattingly TODAY:

“It lets you know, hitting-wise, that you’re not in Colorado, you’re not in Wrigley Field,” Mattingly said. “In this ballpark, you’ve got to hit line drives. You’ve got to get good pitches to hit. You’re facing a team with more veteran pitchers who are going to throw the ball where they want and are going to game plan for you and have some weapons. So it’s not quite as easy as it’s looked the last few days.”

“All the teams that are in the playoff [race] or are going to the playoffs, it’s different,” Mattingly continued. “You’re not facing young guys firing.”

now, let's hope these fuckin simpletons get the message because St.Louis has a Wainwright and Lackey that'll do the same things, but they're better than Peavy. hopefully last night served as a fuckin wake up call. this is chess. not checkers. fuckin brainless middle of the order. AGon had his moments and Hanley actively took pitches on occasion ( although the wrong ones), but they need to be sharper. Kemp tho..he was downright selfish last night. there's no way he was seeing the ball that damn bad.

0 hits in last 7 innings. And I thought getting Peavy out was a good thing.

This one is on Ned mostly and some on Dum Dum.

Ned's acquisitions were a joke and because of then, Dum Dum thought he was being clever by burning up the pen on Sunday. I guess he didn't realize these games might actually be close.

Two rotten peas in a pod.

    Fuck you Frank McLoan
    His curse lives on.

It can't be emphasized enough that our GM went out and acquired two of the worst starting pitchers in baseball and a mediocre utility player when we desperately needed a solid starter and bullpen help

Hey, well Joc's batting .143 so it's all good......

I know (AND CERTAINLY HOPE) this is just jitters but the truly great players seem to start and continue to stay hot. Puig/Trout are good examples.

Let's hope Joc ain't Brock.... quote me on that one. :) :)

Pretty negative up in here but I get it. I was there last night and it was tough to watch but there were some good things that happened. Elbert looked pretty good, fastball sounded crisp. Coulombe was good again and that throw from Yasiel was a masterpiece. Haren was the most pleasant surprise minus the usual homerun allowed albeit a solo. Last night was also the 1st time in awhile we didn't rack up a bunch of hits, spoiled a little by the last week or so but I guess it has been forgotten. :D I'm not going to get a clincher tonight but I'm hoping we can win dammit!!!!

Joc doesn't get enough ABs in a row to worry. I've never though much of him...in terms of being untouchable in a trade...but he's good at baseball and hasn't gotten a real chance yet.
